Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we're going to show you how to do an oil change on this 2006 Jeep Liberty with the 3.7 liter V6 engine. The items you'll need for this are a jack and jack stands, 13mm socket and ratchet, a drip pan, oil and an oil filter wrench.

Your oil pan is located right here and there's a 13mm drain plug right here. We want to go ahead and remove that and you want to make sure you have a drip pan below it. It is best to perform an oil change when your engine is warm that way the oil flows better and you get more of the old oil out. Just be careful with the hot oil and just let all the oil drain. When the oil stops draining, replace the drain plug and just tighten it up. The oil filter is a little bit hard to show, but it's located right up here. You want to put your drain pan below it and just twist it out. In ours, they just come loose by hand, but you may need to use an oil filter wrench to loosen it up. Using a rag or a paper towel, wipe down the area where the oil filter was.

Take some fresh oil and wipe it around the rim of your oil filter and feed the oil filter back up into place and tighten the filter until it stops spinning or seats, and then you need to tighten it two thirds to three quarters of a turn.

Remove your oil fill cap and using a funnel, just pour in the required amount of oil and find out what type and how much. You can always refer to your vehicle's user manual. Now, start the vehicle and just let it run for a second and turn it back off. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it off, put it back in. Pull out the dipstick again and this time check the level and you can see we're all set, put it back in and you're done.
