Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

I've noticed quite a few people watching the IROC-Z videos. Quick little call-out for help: I'm having a little starting problem with this 5-liter tune port motor and I'm going to have some video that describes it.

As you'll hear here, after the car has been sitting, in a cold start, it does not want to start. If I just open up the intake, put a little starting fluid, I open up the butterfly, put a little starting fluid into the intake and then motor will start right up.

There's one glaringly obvious problem to me. This right here appears to me to be an air temperature sensor. There's nothing plugged into it. The problem is, I can't seem to find on this car the plug that should go into it. One thing that you could help me out with right away is if you have one of these vehicles, where does the lead come from that? This vehicle does seem to have some modifications to the harnesses. It's quite possible somebody for some reason cut that off.

The next thing I'm going to do is, if you see the videos posted before, it will be just do a quick tune up, cap, rotor, wires, plugs and then, as well, run some very good fuel injector cleaners through the fuel system. If anybody has any ideas of what causes them not to start cold and, especially, what should be plugged into this sensor, I'd appreciate it if somebody would send comments or post a picture or video in reply.
