What's up, guys? I'm Andy 1A Auto. Here we have some colored strip lights, LEDs, from 1aauto.com.

They come in different colors, and you can test them with the little buttons. There's a little battery in these packs. Come in different colors. Blue, red, white. We're going to take one of these out of the box. Just slide this out. Package here. There's the little battery with the switch that it comes with. Disconnect that. They are bendable, which is nice. You can actually cut them too, if you only need a couple. Can cut them in different locations. There's some 3M sticky tape on the backside and the wires.

You can wire these into your vehicle. It comes with a connector. Just connect this connector right there and then hook these up to 12 volts and you're good to go. Get yours at 1aauto.com, and you'll be ready to rock-and-roll.

All right, so when we want to wire in these lights we want to first start with two positions. You want to decide where you want to put the lights themselves, and then where you want to hard wire the switch into. We decided we're going to wire these in underneath the dash, under here, and then we're going to run the wires. You want to just check and see where the wires go. We're going to run the wires up here, up here. We're going to run them up to the dome light, and we're going to wire them into the dome light switch so that when you turn the switch on and off that it turns the lights on and off.

Those are the two things you want to start with. You can cut and splice the ends of the wires, and cut the insulation off the wires so that we can wire it into the switch. With the wire colors we have a white and black wire. That is going to be to the positive, and then just the straight black wire is going to go to the ground.

I connected this wire to this plate right here. I'm just going to put a little solder on there because I don't want it to fall off. I'm letting the soldering iron heat up. All right, so I'm going to connect the positive wire up to this plate. That's where we get battery positive on this plate. I'm just going to try to solder this on a little bit.

I'm getting some solder there. I just want to make sure it sticks to the plate though. Just heat it up. You've got to heat up the plate. All right, now that these are all soldered on it's not real clean but it should work. We're going to go try it in the vehicle and make sure it works.

All right, with the dome light hooked back up we'll just plug our auxiliary lights in. Then we'll check the switch, and they do work. At this point, we can run the wires. We're actually going to run the wire underneath here and then down there, and then once it's down there then we can mount the lights.

All right, so we routed our lights. We were going to install the lights under the dash right here, but we decided there wasn't really anywhere to secure the lights too well so we changed our plan. We're going to reroute the lights to underneath the seat, we're going to go underneath the center console and mount it under the seat. If you do it under the seat make sure you leave some slack so that when you move the seat forward and back it doesn't get caught in any of the rails or anything. I'm going to test my light right now. If I flip the switch, the lights come on. That works.

Now, I'm going to route these underneath here. I'm going to route this underneath here. Just slide this under the track. I'm just going to pull some more wire. Okay, and on the back side of these lights is some 3M double sided tape. There's a little thing, you can peel it off. Peel the little backer off. All right, so you can take a razor and just go on this side. Just peel this off a little bit. Try not to touch it, just pull that off, now we're ready to secure this.

Get it lined up into position. Just like that. I'm going to push down, and that's pretty secure so that's good. Now, what I'm going to do is I'm going to run this wire over here a little bit. I'm going to secure this wire down here with a little wire tie. It will keep the wire out of the tracks. Just like that. Make sure there's some slack so you can move the seat forward and backward, and it's not going to get caught on anything.

Then, I'm going to take a little pick tool and just try to feed the wire underneath the center console right here, just to get it out of the way and make it look a little cleaner. Just like that. I can do the same for the other side.
