Dont Get Overcharged for These Quick Fixes 2004-08 Nissan Maxima Sedan

Created on: 2021-05-29

Andy shows you several maintenance and repairs that will cost you at a service station, but you can easily do yourself!

In this video, we're going over some quick and easy repairs that you can do yourself on this 2004-2008 Nissan Maxima.

The wiper blades, you can just slide the wiper arm up like this, flip the blade, and there's a little tab right here, push down on the tab, that blade slides right off. It's pretty easy, take the new blade, slide it on the same way it came off and put it down. Do the same on the passenger side.

The air filter, it's located right here, your engine's got to breathe. So you need to make sure this is clean. Take this one clamp, loosen it up, use a straight blade screwdriver. Then there's two clips over here. Pop that in that. Then you just slide this up out a little bit. Pop this off. And there is a wire still attached. So just leave that, there's a filter. Take the old one out. Obviously, this one's brand new. So we're going to reuse that. Slide the new one in, and reassemble it and same way it came out. There's some tabs right here. When that goes up and put these clamps on, tighten up the worm clamp. Good to go.

The battery it's located right here, you can't drive your car if the car won't start. So you need a good battery. They only last about five years. So if it's getting over five years, it's time to change it. To replace it, you wanna always start by taking the negative terminal off, using a 10 millimeter wrench, slide that off. Then you can take the positive side off another 10 millimeter wrench. Take this clamp off, use a 10 millimeter socket, you can loosen these up, this whole bracket comes off, pull the battery out, put the new battery in, install it the complete opposite way. You can put the bracket on, then put the positive terminal on first and then the negative terminal. Make sure you tighten the positive one down before you put the negative one on.

The cabin filter, it's not that hard to change. Not only does your engine need to be able to breathe but you do too. You don't want all that pollen and other particulates getting into your car. Open the glovebox. There's some tabs on the side, just push in on the side of the glovebox. There is a tab right here. This has a string attached to it to slow down the glovebox and just take a screwdriver and just slide this tab off. Push that down. And that should pop off like that. You can just set that aside and you can access the door right here. There's two little tabs, push on those. Slide those out. And there's the filter and slide it out. If any leaves have fallen down in there, you wanna get those out, can reach in and grab those or even use a vacuum. Try to suck those up. Replace the filter just make sure it's going in the correct direction, should be an arrow on it. The airflow goes down and slide the cover back on. And then snap it in place. Take that cable, run the cable up, and squeeze the sides. Close it back in position and you're good to go.
