What are Tapered Bearings and Why Use Them?

Tapered bearings are better than roller ball bearings at handling forces exerted on the bearing during cornering (known as axial load) in trucks and large cars.

Roller ball bearings have spherical ball bearings between two straight rings (called races). Tapered bearings use tapered rollers shaped like flat-topped cones and two races angled from the outside to the inside of the bearing. The greater the angle, the more axial load the bearing can handle.

Your model came from the factory with tapered bearings. This type of bearing handles cornering forces better for trucks and large cars. Roller ball bearings work well for smaller cars, but replacing a tapered bearing with a roller ball bearing will result in increased wear and faster failure.

Wheel bearing & hub assembly
I would recommend these hub assemblies for any one that needs to replace the wheel bearings in their 2010 Chevy crew can 2500HD 4x4. It is just as easy as taking, the large axle bolt off then 4 bolts that hold the hub on. Then just unplug the ABS sensor and slid off. Yep that easy.

Parts were shipped quick and everything fit perfect. Plus the step by step video helped the install go smooth with no issues plus a few tips I never thought of. Thanks for the great service and price.

Quality product for killer deal
Local auto parts stores wanted $250+ for 1 hub assembly (abs sensor separate), found 1aauto and purchased 2 hub assemblies for $110 (with abs sensor), super fast shipping UPS did an excellent job at making contact and holding order at warehouse when my package was refused for delivery at USPS address (live in a rural area) will definitely make more purchases in near future ((also install videos and recommend tools list was a huge help))

As far as the product it worked great. However they knocked it out of the ballpark with the shipment. I got it in half the projected time. I will be back to order parts for my other trucks.

I bought these hubs for my 08 GMC Sierra 2500 diesel back in November. They are a direct replacement and tough. I work in the oil field and drive down bad lease roads everyday and they have held up well.
Anthony G April 13, 2016
I have a 6.0 part fits exactly. I dont see why it would not work on the 6.6 as long as its the matching part number.
Larry B April 13, 2016
Yes they are perfect! I thought the same thing too because my truck is a diesel but the hubs are doing great! I have put about 10,000 miles on my since I put them in. Great buy!!!
