  1. step : Disconnecting the Battery (0:49)
    • Disconnect the negative ground with a 10mm socket and ratchet
  2. step : Disconnecting the Air Bag (1:14)
    • Telescope the steering wheel out
    • Remove the 10mm screws located on the back of the steering wheel
    • Pull the air bag and steering wheel cover out
    • Ground your hands on some metal
    • Disconnect the yellow marked connectors (air bag connectors)
    • Disconnect the horn connectors
    • Place the bag face down and somewhere dry
  3. step : Removing the Steering Wheel (3:21)
    • Hold the steering wheel straight
    • Remove the 10mm Allen screw from the center of the wheel
    • Disconnect the white electrical connector
    • Pull the steering wheel off
  4. step : Removing the Steering Column Cover (4:38)
    • Partially loosen one of the T10 Torx screws in the air bag clock spring
    • Remove the T30 screw on the steering column control module
    • Pry off the cover
    • Remove the three Phillips head screws from the back of the SCCM
    • Remove the cover
  5. step : Removing the Clock Spring (5:48)
    • Remove the T10 Torx screws from the spring
    • Remove the clock spring
    • Zip tie the old clock spring to retain the spring's position
  6. step : Disassembling the SCCM (6:21)
    • Remove the Phillips screw from the yellow support
    • Lift the steering angle sensor out of the module
    • Lift the cruise control up and off
    • Lift the multifunction switch up and off
  7. step : Assembling the SCCM (7:11)
    • Place the multifunction switch onto the SCCM
    • Place the cruise control onto the SCCM
    • Place the steering angle sensor into the module
    • Tighten the Phillips screw to the yellow support
  8. step : Installing the Clock Spring (8:01)
    • Connect and insert the clock spring to the multifunction switch
    • Tighten the T10 screws to the clock spring
  9. step : Installing the Steering Column Cover (8:37)
    • Insert the SCCM into the new cover
    • Tighten the three Phillips head screws on the back
    • Slide the assembly into place
    • Tighten the T30 screw to the column
    • Tighten the T10 Torx screw
  10. step : Installing the Steering Wheel (9:48)
    • Insert the steering wheel into place
    • Tighten the 10mm Allen screw to the center of the wheel
    • Torque the bolt to 52 foot-pounds
    • Connect the white electrical connector
  11. step : Installing the Air Bag (11:40)
    • Touch metal components of the vehicle
    • Reconnect the air bag and horn connectors
    • Lay the air bag into the wheel
    • Tighten the two 10mm bolts
  12. step : Reconnecting the Battery (12:36)
    • Turn the key to the on position
    • Connect the negative terminal with a 10mm socket and ratchet
