Disconnect the battery. Disconnect the negative terminal. Use an 8-millimeter wrench. And disconnect that. Just slide it out of the way.

I wanna release the airbag. I'm gonna use a small blunt object, like a pick, a pick with the tip cut off works pretty good, and just push in here. There's a little spring that you push on. That releases this side of the airbag. Do the same on the other side. Pull the airbag up, you're gonna disconnect the wires on the backside. All right, there's two clips right there, just squeeze those clips, slide the connector out. Slide that off. Place the airbag aside and just make sure you put it face up.

If you see, this is how the spring works with the pick. If you push the pick in there you can just try to move that spring. So you might have to feel around for it. And disconnect this wire right here, this is for the horn. You're just gonna grab this white tab, push down a little bit and then twist it. And twist it to the left and slide this out. Disconnect this connector right here. There's a little lock tab right there, just use a pick or a screwdriver, and slide that connector off.

We're gonna loosen this nut up. Use a 21-millimeter socket and ratchet. If you can, hold it with your knees or have a partner hold it for you while you loosen it. Now before I take the nut off completely, so that I don't hit myself in the head with the steering wheel, just grab the steering wheel, rock it back and forth, and it should loosen up. If it's really, really tight you can use a puller. There's special pullers for these. And take the nut the rest of the way off. Slide the steering wheel out, slide these wires through. And you wanna make sure this clock spring doesn't twist, which it seems like it has a lock on it so it shouldn't...it shouldn't move.

From the backside of the steering wheel take this cover off. Use a T20 socket to take these 2 screws out. Slide that cover off. Take some needle-nose pliers and just push on this retainer right here. Just squeeze it in. There you go. Just like that. Move the wires. To do this switch, flip the steering wheel over. You can use a straight blade screwdriver or I'm using a Torx driver, and just from the backside just push down, the switch will slide right out. Disconnect the connector, push down the little tab, pull the switch out. Take the new switch, line it up, lock it in place, and push it right back in. Now, take the wiring harness, reposition it the way it was, and the connector, push that retainer back in position. That looks good. Take the cover, slide it over, and put the screws back in, and tighten the screws down. Snug them down. Take the steering wheel, slide the wires through the square opening, and line the steering wheel up. There is little tab on the shaft of the steering column and a little arrow, you wanna line that up, and it should be slotted. You shouldn't be able to put it on any other way. It should only go in one way. Put the nut back on. Tighten this up. Now I'm gonna torque this nut to 29-foot-pounds. Reconnect this connector, just line it up, lock it in place, and then the horn connector, slide that in position, and push it down. It should lock in place. Take the airbag, line the connectors up. Just like that. Make sure the wires don't get caught on anything. Slide that in position, lock it down.

Now let's reconnect the battery. And snug down the terminal. Give it a wiggle, make sure it's tight, and you're good to go.

All right. We wanna disconnect the battery, disconnect the negative cable. Use an 8-millimeter ratchet wrench or a wrench and slide that out of the way. You wanna wait a couple of minutes before you take the airbag off to let the airbag module power down. Now, on the side of the steering wheel, there's two little pinholes. You need to take a blunt object or a straight pick and just push.

You should be able to release the airbag. You have to do one side at a time just like that. Do the same on the other side. It might take some practice to do this. There we go and then slide the airbag up. To disconnect the connectors, there's two little tabs you squeeze. Slide that out. Do the same with that one. And then place the airbag somewhere with the airbag facing up.

So, when you're using the pick and you're sliding it into the little pinhole, you're trying to push that little rod to the side to release the airbag. It's the same on both sides. Disconnect the horn circuit. You're just gonna grab this white tab, push it in a little bit and then twist it to the right, so clockwise and then slide it out just like that. And then disconnect this connector right here.

You can use a little pick tool. Get underneath this lock and just slide it out. Now, I'm gonna loosen up this nut. I'm going to use a 21-millimeter socket. Just hold the steering wheel, you don't want to do this on the steering wheel lock and loosen it just like that. All right. Before I take the nut all the way off, I just wanna grab the steering wheel and just rock it back and forth. There we go.

The reason you leave the nut on there is so that it doesn't smash in the face while you're doing this. Then you can take the nut off. And if you have to, you can always use a puller. They make special adapters for a puller and just slide it off. Slide the wires through.

All right. Now, flip the steering wheel over. On the backside, there's two screws. Use a T20 to take these screws out. Grab this cover and just slide it off. All right. We wanna loosen up these wires, there's little retainer in there. Use some needle-nose pliers and just squeeze the tabs on the retainer in the hole down. You can slide that through just like that. That's how it works.

Now, we're gonna take these switches out. Just go from the backside. And you can take the same tool you used to unscrew the screws or a screwdriver and just go behind the switch. Just push it straight through. Just loosen up on the wires a little bit and there's a connector right there. Just disconnect the connector. Push down on the tab and slide it out. Take the new switch, line the connector up, lock it in place and just slide this back into position.

Now, we're gonna take the wiring harness and just reposition it the way it was. And take that retainer, slide that back through so it's locked in. Now, you can take the cover and slide it over. Take those two screws, put the screws back in. And you get these started and snug them up.

All right. Now, I'll take the steering wheel, slide the wires through this middle part right here. And there is an arrow and a little key for which way the steering wheel goes, you wanna line that all up and put the nut back on. I'll snug this up first and then we'll torque it. Now, we're gonna torque this nut to 29 foot-pounds. Now, I'll connect this connector, just line it up, lock it in place and take the horn, and just slide that in position.

You shouldn't have to twist it, you should just be able to push it down. And that seems good. Take the airbag, line up the connectors, lock it in, and just line it up. Push it on till it clicks. Make sure it seems good. Now, we can hook up the battery. Just line it up and get it started, and snug it up. Just make sure it's not loose. That's good.

The reason you leave the nut on there is so that it doesn't smash in the face while you're doing this, and then you can take the nut off.

And if you have to, you can always use a puller. They make special adapters for a puller. And just slide it off, slide the wires through. All right. Now, flip the steering wheel over. Push down on this little tab, disconnect the connector, slide it off. Take the new switch, line it up, and push it back in position. Now, we're gonna take the wiring harness and just reposition it the way it was.

And take that retainer, slide that back through so it's locked in. Now, you can take the cover and slide it over. Take those two screws, put the screws back in and get these started, and snug them up. All right. Now, I'll take the steering wheel, slide the wires through this middle part right here. And there is an arrow and a little key for which way the steering wheel goes, you want to line that all up. And put the nut back on.

And I'll snug this up first, and then we'll torque it. Now, we're gonna torque this nut to 29 foot-pounds. Now, I'll connect this connector. Just line it up, lock it in place, then take the horn and just slide that in position. You shouldn't have to twist it, you should just be able to push it down. And that seems good.

Take the airbag, line up the connectors, lock it in, and just line it up. Push it on till it clicks. Make sure it seems good. Now, we can hook up the battery. Just line it up and get it started, and snug it up. Just make sure it's not loose. Looks good.

Now, we're gonna take the wiring harness and just reposition it the way it was. And take that retainer, slide that back through so it's locked in. Now, you can take the cover and slide it over. Take those two screws, put the screws back in, and get these started, and snug them up. All right. Now, I'll take the wheel, slide the wires through this middle part right here.
