Should You Purchase This TRQ Strut & Spring Assembly Pair?

TRQ takes the intimidation out of replacing your struts. This front strut and spring assembly pair makes it easy to change your own struts. Other companies sell bare struts which require you to compress your springs and transfer them to the new struts. That requires a specialty tool called a spring compressor and can be challenging for a do-it-yourselfer. All-in-one struts are a straightforward bolt-on replacement. You'll just have to raise and support the rear end to take weight off the struts. Then remove the wheel to access the strut. From there, you can unbolt the strut from the wheel knuckle and frame and bolt on the new one. You can see a video showing the process in the "How-To and Tools" tab. You should get a professional alignment after working on any part of your suspension.

In addition to being easy to install, TRQ aftermarket strut assemblies are built to the highest quality standards from the best materials available. That's why TRQ backs them with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. They also fit just like the original parts. These struts are guaranteed to fit several GM cars from 2004-2013 including the Chevy Impala, Buick Allure, and Pontiac Grand Prix. You can see more info in the "Vehicle Fit" tab.

Struts take a beating from all the bumps in the road, so it's no surprise they wear out over time. They typically last about 60,000 miles, but that can vary with road conditions and your driving style. Worn rear struts can make your ride bouncy or make the rear end dip down when you accelerate. One way to test your struts is the jounce and bounce test. Push down on the rear of your car. It should bounce back and hold steady. If it bounces up and down a couple times, then you need to replace your struts.

If one strut wears out, then the other one probably isn't far behind. That's why it's a good idea to replace your struts in pairs. It also helps keep your ride even.

In the past, replacing struts required specialized tools to compress, remove and transfer the old spring and mount.  Pre-assembled with all new parts, our complete strut and spring assemblies make this job much quicker and easier for the do-it-yourself mechanic.

Each complete strut & spring assembly contains:

  • Upper Strut Mount
  • Strut Bearing
  • Coil Spring
  • Boot & Bumper Kit
  • Gas-charged Strut

Loaded strut & spring assemblies allow for a quicker, safer install than bare struts.  No spring compressor required!

Trouble-Free Install

Includes the matched parts needed. New components over reused parts provide a better ride and save you from having to repair again.

Matched Parts

Not all shocks and struts are manufactured the same.  Mixing and matching can result in ride quality issues and decrease the life of the parts.

Saves Time & Money

Over buying the parts individually, or having to search different parts that are correct for your vehicle (because we did it for you!)

Perfect Parts
Ive ordered before from 1A and will continue to do so. No issue at any time and the replacement parts are also the perfect match each time. This was true of my most recent purchase of the strut/spring assembly for my 2004 Pontiac.

Rear Struts Purchase
I was very pleased with my recent purchase of a pair of rear struts for my sons car. They are a quality item at a reasonable price. I saved over 50% of what it would have cost me to purchase them from my local auto parts store. I also enjoy the well detailed car repair videos that you have online. It makes it so much easier to actually see it being done before I tackle the repair job on my cars and my adult childrens cars.
