Please Note: Whenever replacing steering components, it is highly recommended to have a professional alignment performed on the vehicle afterwards.  Failure to do so may result in issues with steering and premature tire wear.

  1. step : Remove the wheel (0:51)
    • Pry off the hub cap.
    • Use your 34 mm socket and breaker bar to loosen the hub nut.
    • Loosen your lug nuts with a 19 mm socket and breaker bar.
    • Raise and secure your vehicle.
    • Remove the lug nuts and set the wheel aside.
  2. step : Remove the brakes (1:31)
    • Use your 15 mm socket to remove the bolts in the caliper bracket.
    • Use a screwdriver to compress the caliper piston.
    • Remove the caliper and tuck it up and out of the way.
    • Pry out the brake pads.
    • Remove two more 15 mm bolts to remove the caliper bracket.
    • Remove the rotor.
  3. step : Remove the Hub (4:11)
    • Hit the hub nut with penetrating oil, and remove it with your 34 mm socket.
    • Give your axle a solid tap with a hammer.
    • Remove the three bolts holding the hub to the steering knuckle.
    • Unplug the ABS sensor.
    • Remove the hub.
  4. step : Install the new hub. (6:58)
    • Plug in the ABS sensor lead.
    • Work the hub onto the axle and start your bolts.
    • Evenly tighten up the bolts, rotating through the three till they are tight enough to torque.
    • Torque the bolts to 60 ft lbs.
    • Put the hub nut on and tighten it preliminarily.
  5. step : Install the brakes (9:46)
    • Inspect your rotors and replace with new ones cleaned with brake parts cleaner if needed.
    • Use a wire brush to clean corrosion from the brake caliper bracket.
    • Bolt the bracket down with a ratchet and 15 mm socket and torque to 80 ft lbs.
    • Apply anti-seize grease to the edges of the brake pads and insert them into the caliper brackets.
    • Compress the calipers with a C-Clamp and mount it.
    • Feed the caliper bolts into place after inspecting and cleaning the bolt sleeves and torque them to 50 ft lbs.
  6. step : Put the wheel back on (13:50)
    • Hand tighten the lug nuts and lower the vehicle.
    • Torque the hub nut to 118 foot pounds.
    • Use a star pattern to torque the lug nuts to 100 ft lbs.
