Do the bearings stick out of the housing like 1/8 "? I bottomed mine in and they have 1/8" sticking out. On my 02 mustang GT split axle.

These are meant to sit on the worn out part of the axle, but should not stick out any further than the original.

It depends on the car you are working on. In my case, I had to work on a 1998 Isuzu trooper v6, and it was a pain. I ended up paying to a shop because they had the 20 or 24 ton press I needed for both axles and to put the new bearings back on. I do not know if this is your case, but its the only advise I can give you. Also, there are so many videos on YouTube for so many applications and you might be lucky.
