Put these rotors and pads on my granddaughters mini. Perfect fit, an it was actually an upgrade with the drilled and slotted rotors. The only thing I can complain about is the little grease packet with the pads had been poked, and grease was pretty much all over. Small problem for such a good product and company.

This was a great replacement for my 2012 mini Cooper. I received the parts within a few days and with the helpful video from Andy I had the new rotors and pads installed without a hitch.

Does anyone know if you need to spray these rotors with brake cleaner before instillation?

I did but not sure if it is required. I noticed my wheels have a sticky film on them now, not like brake dust. I dont know if it came from the pads or rotors though.

I was advised to do so. In fact, I have been told this is a good practice to do with all new brake rotors. That being said, judging by the times in which I forgot to clean new rotors, it doesnt make that much of a difference for the average consumer.

Yes, there is a film of packing oil on them that you should wash off with break cleaner. I did.

If you are replacing rotors you don't need to spray rotors. However, I did spray off the mounting bracket that holds the brake parts.

Yes. You need to clean the protective coating applied to prevent oxidation.

Do these fit the 2012 Cooper S? I dont see drilled and slotted kits that mention the S model.

My granddaughters Cooper is a 2007, so not sure of fitment of a 2012, but if they do fit buy them. I put them on her car and I swear that it now has the best brakes of any vehicle Ive ever had, including brand new cars. The only problem I had was getting that set screw out.

Not to my knowledge. I believe the S has a 1/2" larger disc rotor.

I never put them on. Shop said they did not fit and I sold vehicle couple months later. The S had different sizing from front to back if I remember correctly.

This is not the correct part for your vehicle, but we do carry the one you need. The correct part number is: 1ABFS02220. We only offer the standard brakes for the S model, we do not have a cross-drilled and slotted option.
