Vehicle Fit

This leaf spring shackle repair kit is an aftermarket kit that is designed to replace a broken, rusted, or rotted leaf spring shackle. It includes all the necessary parts to do a professional repair.

After years of exposure to the elements, the metal on the shackle will tend to start flaking and rust away, along with the bushing deteriorating, eventually leading to shackle failure. Once this happens, the vehicle will be inoperable. This kit is designed to replace the damaged shackle and bring back the strength and integrity of the leaf spring again.

Specifications:

  • Fits either the LH (Driver Side) or RH (Passenger Side)
  • Will replace only the REAR Shackle on the REAR Leaf Spring
  • Replaces dealer part numbers: F1TZ-5630A, F87Z-5776-AA, F1TZ5630A, F87Z5776AA
  • Built to strict quality control standards
  • Kit includes:
    • (1) - Shackle with Bushing
    • (1) - Spring Bushing
    • (2) - Mounting Bolts
    • (2) - Locking Nuts
  • Made to fit precisely

This kit has enough parts to do one leaf spring shackle. If you need to do both sides, please purchase the pair.

This leaf spring shackle repair kit is a great replacement and offers good value over dealer individual pieces.

Leaf spring shackle repair kit
Quality of the product is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone. It was also helpful to have the fix-it video. Unfortunately, the video takes the short-cut by only removing the shackle bolts and leaving the original bushings in place. Nice easy repair. However, in my case the shackle bracket was completely rotted away and the nuts were heavily rusted making it impossible to unscrew the nuts and bolts. I had to burn the nuts off with an oxy-acetylene torch. No problem punching out the upper bolt leaving the sleeve in place in the frame. The problem occurred with the bushing in the leaf spring. When I punched out the bolt, the inner sleeve was rusted to it and the bolt, inner sleeve and rubber came out but the outer sleeve remained in the leaf spring. Efforts to knock the sleeve out of the eye of the leaf spring have been unsuccessful (rusted in place?). I am loath to heat the eye of the spring to expand it to permit pounding the sleeve out for fear of screwing up the temper in the leaf spring. I am going to try putting a couple of hacksaw cuts in the sleeve down to the spring, shoot in PB Blaster and use a cape chisel to pound out the sleeve. If there is a better way addressing this in the video would have been very helpful. I cannot believe that this need to remove the lower bushing assembly has not occurred to other people.
