  1. step : Preparing the Working Area (0:44)
    • Turn the steering wheel 90 degrees to the right
    • Loosen the hose clamp nearest the fluid reservoir with pliers and move it out of the way
    • Disconnect the wiring harness from the brake fluid reservoir
  2. step : Removing the Intermediate Steering Shaft (1:33)
    • Lift the intermediate steering shaft boot in the engine compartment
    • Remove the 11mm bolt from the engine compartment side of the steering shaft
    • Push in the lower dash panel tabs
    • Pull off the lower dash panel
    • Lift the intermediate steering shaft boot in the cabin
    • Remove the 11mm bolt from the cabin side of the steering shaft
    • Pry off the engine compartment side of the steering shaft with a screwdriver and a large wrench
    • Pry off the cabin side of the steering shaft with a screwdriver and a large wrench
    • Pull the steering shaft out through the cabin side boot
  3. step : Installing the New Intermediate Steering Shaft (4:03)
    • Make sure the steering shaft can telescope
    • Loosen the steering shaft Allen screw if necessary
    • Feed the new steering shaft into place from the cabin side
    • Make sure the bolt hole on the engine compartment side is pointed up
    • Push the intermediate steering shaft onto the shaft rack
    • Thread the engine compartment side 11mm bolt into the steering shaft
    • Pull the steering shaft onto the steering wheel shaft, while turning the wheel 90 degrees to the right
    • Thread the cabin side 11mm bolt onto the steering shaft
    • Tighten the cabin side 11mm bolt to 35 foot-pounds of torque
    • Push the cabin side steering shaft boot into place
    • Push the lower dash panel into place
    • Tighten the engine compartment side 11mm bolt to 35 foot-pounds of torque
    • Push the engine compartment side steering shaft boot into place
  4. step : Reconnecting Engine Compartment Parts (7:12)
    • Connect the wiring harness to the brake fluid reservoir
    • Put the hose clamp back in place with pliers
