The ignition coil is a crucial part of your ignition system. It's function is to convert the 12 volt power of your vehicle's electrical system in to 35,000 or more volts. This produces a high intensity spark at the spark plug which then ignites the fuel in the cylinder. Coils in general will wear out over time. This will cause a misfire condition. In engines like this with one coil per cylinder you can diagnose a coil by putting a timing light on each one to make sure it is lighting the light consistently.

  • SET contains 8 coils. Enough for one 8 cylinder engine

Do these come with o-rings as well as the boots to seal spark plugs hole?

BEST ANSWER: Yes these come with the o-rings and boots!
Is this hard to do by a non mechanic?
George S on Oct 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would say it depends on the application. I did this on a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I would rate it probably 2 or 3 difficulty on a scale of ten. Really once you get under everything (intake box) it’s simple, there is one bolt per coil and one plug wire per coil so if you do it one at a time there’s no way to mess it up just don’t over tighten. I put some of the dielectric grease on inside the boot so the plugs wouldn’t stick to it and to protect from breakdown from the voltage over time. If you’re doing this on a similar model I would recommend this over taking it to a shop any day. It’s not nearly as difficult as it may appear.
Who is the manufacture of these ?
Tony B on Dec 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We have a few different aftermarket companies build these parts specifically for us who are based in either China or Taiwan, as our 1A Auto house brand. They are manufactured to the same OEM specifications as the original part that came with your vehicle. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
