Prior Rough Idle/Stalling

This item seems to have fixed a major stalling and rough idle problem on my 1986 Chevy Astro Van. I would have to keep my foot on the throttle when at a stop to keep it running and it would idle roughly. Also would hesitate upon acceleration. Now it runs smoothly and so far no stalling etc. I did also replace the MAP sensor at the same time.

On a 91 camaro tpi 305 it is located on the lower passenger side of the throttle body near the tps sensor as well

We do not see a torque specification for this part, but as long as it sits flush and with the use of the thread lock it will stay in place. You will want to simply hand tighten this part, or tighten with a three finger rule on the socket/wrench combination until there is pressure.

I did not find a torque spec when I installed so i set it to 15 foot pounds. Over torqiing will break it at the threads. Hope this helps. Landon

Dont know about the torque.....I just took out the old one and cleaned the hole with carb cleaner and a rag...put the new one in snug and tightened just a little more and it works fine

20 to 30lbs is all thats needed does not break easy use right size socket or wrench no problem

I had no issues installing. Comes with a gasket just tighten till tight don't try to muscle it.

I saw that 1 person said that this part got his truck is starting good again. I have a 94 s-10 blazer with a 4.3 and it will not start without starting fluid could this be my problem?

Its possible that part could be stuck closed. Only way to know for sure is to remove it an clean it. However I would also buy a throttle position sensor and replace both parts at the same time
