Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video we're going to show you how to replace the washer bottle on this 2002 Suzuki XL-7. The items you'll need for this are a new washer bottle from 1AAuto.com, a 10mm socket and ratchet, a flat blade screwdriver, electrical tape, a funnel, and a wire brush.
Your washer bottle is located right here and it's held in with three 10mm bolts: one there, one right here, and one more right here. We'll just fast forward as Don removes all three of those. Once those are removed, tilt your washer bottle so you have better access to these harnesses. Remove the electrical tape and pull that rubber boot back. Using a flat blade screw driver, press the tab on the harness and pull it free. Then, repeat the process on the other washer pump. Now, using the flat blade screwdriver, disconnect those hoses. Pry on them and pull on the hose at the same time. Pull them out of that clip, and now your washer bottle is free.
On the left, is the new bottle from 1A Auto. On the right, is the old one. You can see they're identical, and they're going to mount exactly the same. Using a flat blade screw driver, pry back on your washer pump and then pry near the gasket where it fits into the washer bottle. Then push it into place on your new washer bottle. Now repeat the process with the other pump. Now using a wire brush, clean the tops of the pumps. This will make for a better connection with the harness.
Reconnect your hoses and push the washer bottle down into place. We'll fast forward as Don replaces those three 10mm bolts and tightens them up. Reconnect your harnesses and push those covers back down into place. Now using electrical tape, reseal the top of those covers. Now, replace the washer fluid from your old bottle into your new bottle. You're all set.
