Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video we're going to show you how to replace an outside door handle. We show you the driver's front. The passenger's front is pretty much the same procedure. The only tool you will need is a T30 Torx driver.

You can see that my door handle's working fine, but a lot of times they do break internally. What you need to do is open up your door and there's a T30 screw right here. I'm using a T30 Torx driver. Remove that bolt. Slide your handle back like this and pull it out. If your handle is not functioning, you won't really need to do this but since this handle is not broken I actually have to use the key and just turn it clockwise a little bit and that allows the rod to come out. Then my handle comes out just like that.

A lot of times, what happens is this piece of plastic right here is what pulls on the lever in the door and this will break. That causes it not to work. Again, my handle's in fine shape so I'm going to reinstall.

On new handles from 1A Auto, this lock mechanism is all integrated into the handle. So the new handles from 1A Auto do come with a key. You want to, there's basically a rod inside of the door that goes up right through this slot. To put the handle back in you need to turn this counterclockwise. So put the front of the handle in first. Let's see here. Got to make sure you get it on the right angle. Make sure you push this. You've got to be pushing it forward. Push it in. Take your key and turn it counterclockwise and let it go. Slide the handle back and you can actually now test to make sure that everything works. Handle's working. Close it. Lock the door. Unlock the door. Everything is working correctly. So now just line up the hole for the bolt, put the bolt in, and tighten it up. You'll want to push your handle back and in as much as you can.
