How To Replace Engine Air Filter Chevy Impala 2000-05

In this video we're going to show you how to replace the air filter on this 2002 Chevy Impala, same as a bunch of different GM vehicles. The only tool you'll need is a flat blade screwdriver.

Your air filter is located right in here and what you want to do first is loosen up this little clamp with the screwdriver. A lid right here, you just pull up on a little tab and disconnect that lid then you just grab, pull this hose and pull it off the bottom off of there and then up and out then you pull these tabs and pull your air filter up and out. I would say this car is need of a new filter for sure. That filter was so dirty, what I'm going to do is take this and you pull this right up and out and then I'm just going to get a vacuum and just vacuum and clean out all that debris and stuff.

New filter from 1A Auto. We carry both the standard style filters and the K&N Performance Filters. Just the ridge side goes in, make sure it's in there well. This has teeth on the bottom, they'll go down, you want to put it diagonally down and make sure those go down correctly. Pop your clips back on. This has a little tab on it that goes between two indicators right there. Clip this down in and push it on to the engine first and you spin it if you need to. Make sure you pull it, make sure the bottom goes all the way under the air box and pull it on here. Reconnect your sensor and tighten up with your clamp and you're all set.
