Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we show you how to service the engine air filter in this 2003 Honda Civic. It's the same process for any 2001 to 2005 Honda Civic with the 1.4 or 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder engine. The only tool you'll need is an 8-millimeter socket with a ratchet and extension.

Okay, right here is your air cleaner, and there is a series of 8 millimeter bolts that hold it down. I'm going to speed it up here as I remove those 8 millimeter bolts. I believe there is a total of 8 of them. This is a northeastern car, so one was already broken, and I ended up breaking another one. If you break one or two, it's not going to make that big of a difference.

Okay, the lid comes off, and the air cleaner comes up and out.

This is actually a pretty new air cleaner, so I'm not going to replace it. Checking here, there's probably some leaves and stuff in here; vacuum it out. Then the air cleaner goes right back down. You guessed it; I'm going to speed up here as I just tighten up the bolts that hold the cover in place. You might want to spray them with a little bit of penetrating oil or put something on them so that they don't seize up and break more the next time you have to service your air filter.

Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.
