Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the power door lock switch on this 2003 Monte Carlo, and we show you on the driver side, but the passenger side is the same procedure. The only tools you'll need for this are a flat blade screwdriver, and a Phillips screwdriver.
Start off by removing the Phillips screw behind your interior door handle. Use a flat blade screwdriver to pry out on the back of the panel as you remove the screw, and then slide the panel back and off the handle. Now pry out on either side of your door lock switch. While you're doing this, you want to just pull out on the switch, and it'll pull free. Now, you want to pry out on this tab to disconnect the harness, and your switch is free.
Take your new door lock switch, connect it to the harness, push it back into this panel, and then slide that back over the door handle, and you want to push these tabs into the slots on the side. Slide it back, and then push it into place, and then just replace that Phillips screw.
