Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years.

Hi everyone, Sue here from 1A Auto, and today on our '06 BMW 325Ci, we're gonna do a brake flush. So we have our Dot 4 brake fluid ready to go, and I'm gonna take the old fluid out of the reservoir first. I'm gonna test that brake fluid with a brake fluid tester we sell here on our 1A Auto auto site. It tells you the moisture level, so I'm taking the cover off down here. In those two middle prongs, there's a AA battery inside, and we will press on the button. Once it takes the fluid, it can read. And we are at three percent. So we need to change this brake fluid, it's three percent moisture. Now it's four. So the brake fluid is no good, we need to do a brake flush.

I'm gonna use a vacuum tool to suck out the dirty fluid. You wanna get as much out as you can. You can use a turkey baster at home, but I would definitely take the fluid out before I start doing my brake lead.

Now I'm gonna fill the reservoir with the fresh new Dot 4 brake fluid. You could take up to a quart or two pints, it all depends on how dirty your fluid is. Make sure you have enough to do the job.

This is a real simple procedure. It's easier with two people, so call a friend. I have a partner in crime in the car, and what he's gonna do is he's gonna pump the brakes up, hold them, and then I'm gonna open up the bleeder screw. And I'm gonna start in the right rear first, furthest away from the master.

So go ahead and pump it up.

Hold.

While he holds the brake pedal, I'm gonna open the bleeder screw, make sure I have a catch basin. And then I'm gonna lock it, tell him, "Pump it up."

Holding.

And then I'm gonna, he's holding it, and I'm gonna re-open the brake bleeder, close it, pump it up.

Holding.

I can already see the fluid starting to change. It's getting rid of that orange tint that it had. Pump it up.

Holding.

Pump it up.

Holding.

Pump it up. I'm gonna do it one more time. And then I'm gonna move to the next wheel.

Holding.

Pump it up.

Holding.

I'm gonna grab my bucket and go over to the left rear. Pump it up.

Holding.

Pump it up.

Holding.

Pump it up.

Holding.

Okay, I'm gonna have him pump it up, and then I'm gonna check my master. So I can see from the side here, it's right here, a little bit below minimal. I'm in good shape, so I'm gonna go back to bleeding.

Holding.

Pump it up.

Holding.

Pump it up.

Holding.

Pump it up.

Holding.

This will be the last time, and then I'm gonna move to the front. Pump it up.

Now let's go up to the right front.

Holding.

We're at the right front now, and he's already pumped it up and he's holding. Pump it up.

Holding.

Pump it up.

Holding.

Pump it up.

Holding.

Pump it up.

Holding.

I'm gonna check my master again. It's just a tad below minimal ... I mean, maximum. I'm just gonna top it off. Give me a chance to clean this up.

And just do it a couple more times. Pump it up. As you can see, that orange tinge is gone.

Holding.

And we're up in the front, so it's the closest, pump it up, to the master.

Holding.

All right, I'm gonna go over to the left front now, and the final wheel. So on the driver's side, you can see that the sensor has a boot that goes around that bleeder. And you have to just take that off. Pump it up.

Holding.

Open the last bleeder screw. Pump it up.

Holding.

Pump it up.

Holding.

You can already see it blond more than orange. Do it two more times. Pump it up.

Holding.

Okay, last time, pump it up.

Holding.

Okay, pump it up. You're all set.

So what we're doing here is, I'm gonna take a reading from the furthest spot on this car, so that's the right rear caliber, and I'm gonna take a reading of the brake fluid to see how much moisture's in it, see if we got all of it out.

So now with my tool, I'm gonna put the two prongs in the fluid and turn it on. And look at that, I'm at one percent to zero. I think I'll bleed one more time all the way around and see if I can get it down to a perfect zero all the way around.
