  1. step : Disconnect the battery (1:15)
    • Use an 8 mm socket and ratchet to disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. step : Remove the door panel (1:31)
    • Pry off the courtesy light lens.
    • Remove the power window switch panel by prying it up with a flat blade screwdriver.
    • Disconnect the leads.
    • Pull the trim panel at the top inside corner of the door off.
    • With a 7 mm socket, ratchet and socket extension, remove the bolts anchoring the door panel.
    • Pull the door panel up and off.
    • Disconnect the courtesy light lead.
  3. step : Remove the speaker (2:58)
    • Use a 7/32" socket to remove the bolts securing the speaker.
    • Disconnect the leads.
    • Peel back the water shield.
  4. step : Remove the power window motor. (3:40)
    • Disconnect the power window lead, located back behind the speaker cavity.
    • Unbolt the window regulator and regulator track.
    • Loosen the two nuts keeping the window clipped to the regulator.
    • The regulator should slide off and away from the window.
    • Use painters tape to secure the window up out of the way.
    • Pull the regulator out of the door.
    • Use a pair of Vise-grip pliers to remove the balancing spring.
    • Use an 8 mm socket and ratchet to unbolt the window motor from the regulator.
  5. step : Install the new power window motor (8:10)
    • Select the correct adapter lead and connect it to the motor
    • Dab a little grease on the gears.
    • Bolt the power window motor to the actuator.
    • Use your vise grips to install the balancing spring.
    • Put the window regulator assembly into the door.
    • Bolt the assembly into the door.
    • Connect the power window motor lead and plug in the power window switch.
    • Test the power window motor.
    • Disconnect the switch.
    • Untape the window and clip it into the power window regulator.
    • Secure the clips by tightening the nuts.
    • Replace the water shield
    • Connect and install the speaker.
  6. step : Install the door panel (14:21)
    • Connect the courtesy light
    • Thread the power window switch harness through the door pull.
    • Clip the door panel onto the door.
    • Bolt the door panel down with the two 7 mm bolts
    • Connect and clip the power window switch panel back into the door pull.
    • Snap the triangular trim panel and courtesy light lens back on.
    • Reconnect the battery if you haven’t already.
