You can't beat the price on this arm rest. All metal construction instead of the OEM plastic junk that was originally supplied by the manufacturer and way cheaper to purchase than buying the OEM replacement from the dealer. Product was shipped quickly and well packaged for shipping.

Easy install, just follow directions. Makes the armrest more sturdy. Doesnt fix the broken cushion issue, but does fix the cracked support bracket area issue. Good product.

The instructions say not to install the lock if you did not have one on your old armrest.

There's a latch that comes with it. Is that how the OEM is? Mine didn't need the latch so I just removed it

We unfortunately do not have any instructions on this repair at the moment. You may be able to find this on the Dorman website or automotive forum/Youtube for a video.

be sure the cup holders in the second row a fully stowed. if assembled properly. IF the cup holder is out, you can not raise the console.

Hi, I'm not sure I completely understand your question but I'll try to provide some information for you. We found a video on YouTube that stepped us through the process of replacing the padded armrest in my son's 2009 Ford Ranger. It shows how to completely remove the arm so hopefully it gives you the information you are seeking. Search for "Ford Ranger Center Console Replacement" in YouTube. The video we used was published in January 2017 by Haden Bush. I would've included the link but instructions for answering postings specified that links could not be included here. Hope this helps!

Mine didn't lock - after installation, the new arm operatred the same as the old one. It pivots up to access the storage comparment. Have not had any problems with it.

I removed the lock mechanism, because the original Ford piece did not have one.
