  1. step : Removing the Wheel (0:38)
    • Loosen the lug nuts with a 22 mm or 7/8 in socket and breaker bar
    • Raise and support the vehicle
    • Remove the lug nuts
    • Remove the wheel
  2. step : Removing the Rear Brakes (1:29)
    • Remove the two 10 mm caliper slider bolts
    • Pry between the inner brake pad and rotor to slightly depress the brake piston
    • Remove the brake caliper
    • Hang the caliper to prevent tension on the brake hose
    • Remove the brake pads from the caliper bracket
    • Remove the two 21 mm caliper bracket bolts to remove the brake caliper
    • Remove the brake rotor retaining ring, which does not need to be reused
    • Remove the brake rotor, hammering around the hat of the rotor to break free rust, if needed
  3. step : Installing the Brakes (5:21)
    • Clean the brake caliper bracket and pad sliders
    • Remove the brake caliper sliders
    • Clean the brake caliper sliders and boots
    • Apply brake grease to the caliper slider boots
    • Apply brake grease to the caliper sliders
    • Slide the caliper sliders into the caliper
    • Clean the wheel hub
    • Clean the new rotor
    • Loosen the brake shoe adjuster if necessary
    • Install the rotor onto the wheel studs
    • Adjust the brake shoe tension through the rear access hole
    • Reinstall the caliper bracket with the 21 mm bolts
    • Torque the 21 mm caliper bracket bolts to 132 ft-lb
    • Install the brake pads into the caliper bracket
    • Compress the brake caliper piston with a clamp or compressor tool
    • Install the caliper over the pads
    • Reinstall the two 10 mm caliper slider bolts
    • Torque the 10 mm caliper slider bolts to 24 ft-lb
  4. step : Installing the Wheel (15:18)
    • Install the wheel onto the wheel studs
    • Install and tighten the lug nuts by hand
    • Lower the vehicle with minimal weight on the wheel
    • Torque the 21 mm or 7/8 in lug nuts to 130 ft-lb in a star pattern
    • Lower the vehicle completely
  5. step : Checking the Brakes (15:51)
    • Pump the brake pedal several times to seat the pads
    • Check the brake fluid reservoir level, and add fluid if necessary
    • Test the brakes off road at low speed before driving on the road
