New Hood Latch from 1AAuto.com How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a broken or weak hood latch on 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08 Dodge Ram 1500 on 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08 Dodge Ram 1500 and 03-09 2500 and 3500 models.

  1. step 1 : Removing the Hood Latch Assembly
    • Mark around the bolts
    • Pry out the cable so it's loose
    • Remove the 10mm bolts
    • Press the spring mechanism forward
    • Release the cable
  2. step 2 : Installing the Hood Latch Assembly
    • Press the spring mechanism forward
    • Insert the cable
    • Press the latch assembly into place
    • Tighten the 10mm bolts to the assembly
    • Tap the cable into place with a screwdriver

The part I ordered was the same as the factory original, the video 1AAuto offered on their site in reference to this part was very helpful. I am not a handyman and usually have no confidence in installation of any parts to my truck.
