I can hear the lift motor running dose that mean the actuator is bad?

Emma F December 16, 2018
My liftgate will open automatically but will not close, and normally when I close it manually the lock will just click and not engage. Does it sound like replacing the Liftgate Lock Actuator will fix this issue?

1A auto customer service was awesome
1A Auto customer service was awesome and a great help. when I told him what the problem was with my 2007 GMC Yukon, he asked me a few questions and then he told me what I needed . The product was shipped that day and I received it a few days later. It took me 15 minutes to put the liftgate lock actuator in and replaced it. Thank you for your service.

A perfect fit
I couldn’t figure out what the heck was wrong with my liftgate on my 07 suburban. But after some research it seemed to be that dang latch but it still didn’t make sense why it was doing what it was doing. I watched the 1aauto video on how to do it and it’s as easy as falling out of bed. The whole operation took about 15 minutes and for the first time in two freaking years my liftgate goes up and down by itself! Boom! Thanks 1A for pimpin’ my ride.

07 Denali lift gate latch
I recently purchased an 07 Denali that had the latch not working on the lift gate. The owner had told me the auto lift had quite working as well. I figured most important was to replace the latch so the vehicle could be secured. My 1AAuto order arrived in the specified time. The panel removal and latch actuator replacement was easy following the tutorial. With the lift gate up and plugged back in, I dropped the door to latch and check prior to reinstalling the panel. Heard motor winding, touched handle to open and the lift gate auto opened, BONUS!! I had not expected that, but it makes sense that the auto lift is dependent on the latch actuator working. Checked my key fob and all works now after replacing just the latch actuator. Highly recommend checking your latch if the auto lift stops working. Does the lock engage or can you just open it after shutting? If so, replacing just the lift gate actuator may repair both. I also ordered chrome door handles to replace the black peeling ones. I havent replaced yet, but dont expect any issues after watching those tutorials as well.

Easier than expected
If I’d known that it was this easy and $300 cheaper than the dealer, I would have done it a year ago!!!!

great return process
I bought a liftgate latch actuator to correct a problem I was having on my 2007 Chevy Suburban. It turns out that I mid-diagnosed my problem and I didnt actually need this part. I was super happy to not only be able to return the part, but the process to do so was super simple and completely hassle free.
