On the driver side underneath this kick panel, we need to remove there's a couple of push pins. There is one right here, just use a trim tool. Slide that out. And there's two more. There we go. And slide that out. There's a light right here, just twist it. Grab it and twist it to the left a little bit. And slide it up.
And the actuator is located right here, it's attached to the HVAC box or heater control heater box and you can grab the connector. Should be a tab on it, lock tab, disconnect the connector, just like that. Put it out of the way, move it out of the way. Now there's some screws that hold the actuator in, there's one right here, one right here and one right here. And those are gonna be a T20 screw, so you're gonna have to those out.
And you can grab the actuator and just slide it straight out. Nice. Now you want to take the new actuator and you want to line this up with the door. You might have to twist it a little bit. There we go. So that's lined up. Now before I plug it in, you want to get the screw started. You never want to plug this in before you get it onto the door because it could ruin it. And those are all screwed down, tighten down and just take the connector, line it up and plug it in. The connector is not something that's easily seen, it's something you're gonna have to feel for.
You can take this panel and there's a little tab right here that's going to line up with that panel right there. And take this light and push it in, twist it to the right until it locks in. And line this up and take the push pins, get those started. Put those in. Over on the passenger side near the kick panel just slide this down, there's a fuse panel right here, you can see the key. You want to find the HVAC fuse and the fuse panel itself, the fuse box, is right up there. It's a little bit tricky to get to.
Find the correct fuse, pull that out, it's a 15 amp. If you're counting them from the back, it's the second 15 amp fuse that's in. Now you want to leave this out for at least 10 seconds. You want to make sure the key is off before you take this off. Take this out. And it's been about 10 seconds so we can put it back. And there we go, it's back in there. Close the door.
The reason you disconnect that fuse is to put the HVAC control head into relearn mode. So now if I take the key and start the vehicle. And when you start the vehicle don't touch any of the HVAC controls, just let them be. The actuators are gonna do their calibration, it's gonna take about a minute so just don't touch anything and let it do its job. Okay. Now this is calibrated, now you can adjust the temperature or the mode to where you want it and everything should be working properly.
