Check out this video for what to check if your heat or ac fans are making rattling, clunking or vibrating noises while they're on. It may be an easy fix!
What's up, guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. In this video I'm going to talk about a blower motor that's making a lot of noise. If you have one, when you turn it all the way up it sounds like you have an airplane that's ready to take off, there may be something wrong with it. If you need parts for your vehicle, click the link in the description and head over to 1AAuto.com.
With the key on, we turn the blower motor up. You really don't hear anything. It sounds a little abnormal, but when we turn it all the way up ... So with that cranked up all the way it's almost like the dash is actually vibrating, you hear a lot of noise. So something's wrong with the blower motor, we're going to take the blower motor out and take a look at it.
Typically, blower motors are underneath the glove box, but every vehicle is different. If you need help replacing yours, we have many videos on how to do that on our channel.
With the blower motor out we can see there is a piece of trash in here. We can pull that out. This was probably what was causing the noise, but it's unclear. Now we'll put the blower motor back in and just confirm.
Now we've got our blower motor back in. Now with the key on, you can check and see if it's making any noise. Put it on half throttle and that looks good. I don't hear anything. Let's put it on full blast and it sounds perfectly normal. No more jet engine sound, so we're good to go, but if you still had a noise, you'd probably need a blower motor.
Hope this video helped you out.
