I installed this cabin air filter on my 2007 Chevy Silverado and it fits perfectly. Unfortunately, Silverado's don't have a pre-cut hole to insert the air filter, but they do have the space marked on the duct-work, so you must cut the opening before you can install the air filter. Be sure that the cut is square and remove all burrs from the edges and the part will slide in easily. The bottom bracket holds the filter in place and seals the opening.

This product fits and works as advertised. I rated it four stars because the instructions state the cabin air door may be cut with a sharp knife. The plastic is much thicker and harder than this. I used a Dremel tool with a cutting blade. You will definitely need some kind of electric hand tool with a sharp blade and a good amount of time to cut the rectangular opening. Following that, the installation is quick and easy.

I used a vibrating trim saw to cut out the plastic panel and then used a razor blade to remove any sharp areas

I have watched four or five videos on changing the Cabin Filter, but my 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2WD 8 Cylinders 0 5.3L FI FFV OHV 325 CID just doesn't have the area to cut out to install the Cabin Filter Kit I bought. Are there some exempt mode

Same problem, there is a YouTube video with step by step instructions'. You'll need a dremel type cutting tool to cut out the bottom of the cabin filter housing. Just Take your time cutting That is where the extra plastic piece will screw into.

I installed this DMCAF00004 into my 2009 GMC 2500HD. It installed just as the instructions described with perfect fit; However, the lower-dash plastic was much harder to cut than was described. Do not attempt to cut it with a hand-held saw. Instead, use a dremel rotary power tool with a cutting blade or similar tool.

This part fit exactly as advertised in my 2009 GMC 2500 HD. The only surprise was just how thick and hard the lower dash plastic is. I had to use a hand-held electric saw to cut through the plastic. Once the bottom piece of the air chamber was removed, the filter and replacement 'door' fit as advertised.
