backing plates
The parts were a perfect fit. The installation video was invaluable and saved me $400 from the garage estimated price. You can’t beat that!&

Great product and price.
This 2 piece backing plate is made really good and you do not need to pull the axle to install it. This does not come with instructions but 1A Auto has a video on you tube and on there site. You do have to work the two pieces together but make sure the rubber that comes with it mounts between the backing plate and the emergency brake housing, it seals the emergency brake housing, this does not go on the outside of backing plate and dorman will not tell you that. I would recommend this for anybody that needs a new backing plate.

Im sure glad they made this in two parts. With my other vehicle I had to pull the axle out. The part is of top quality.

Backing Plate Replacements
GREAT Idea! These were a magnificient time saver, and I didnt know what I was going to do when I replaced my disc-brake pads on the rear and my old ones just crumbled at the slightest touch. Were super easy to put on, ONCE I sprayed the bolts down w/penatrater a couple times.THANKS for an EXCELLENT product!

Great replacement
My first time working on brakes and I had planned a full replacement for rear rotors and pads. When I got into the job I found the original backing plates almost entirely gone from rust. I ordered these backing plates and as is usual with 1AAUTO they were shipped promptly. As far as this product is concerned it is a good replacement for the OEM backing plate. My originals came out in pieces and these do the job and are easier to install, just be patient as they are a little tricky. From a durability standpoint these will go the way the others did being made of steel and subjected to midwestern winters and salt, sand, etc on the roads. Im not sure how long they were expected to last, my Tahoe is a 2003 and they were all but gone. One word of caution: there is a mistake in the installation video that made me a little crazy. There is a bracket that is held on by an 8mm bolt. True to form, I didnt look at it closely when I removed it. When it came time to reinstall it I reviewed the video carefully and although it seemed the bracket was made to go on one way, the video clearly showed it being installed the facing the other way. I installed it as shown in the video and on the test drive had an annoying squeal; worse during left turns. I suspected that the bracket was the culprit. When I did the other (drivers) side I carefully noted the bracket placement and sure enough it was on the opposite way. I finished the drivers side correctly installing the bracket, new rotors, and new pads. Then I revisited the passenger side pulling the wheel, caliper, and rotor and repositioning the bracket. This time the test drive was a success and the squeal gone. All of the parts used came from 1AAUTO and overall I was happy with the parts and very happy with the prompt shipping.
