  1. step : Removing the Wheel (1:07)
    • Pry off the center cap with a flat blade screwdriver
    • Loosen the 22mm lug nuts with the vehicle on the ground
    • Raise the vehicle with a floor jack
    • Secure the vehicle on jack stands
    • Remove the lug nuts
    • Pull off the wheel
  2. step : Inspecting the Brakes (1:25)
    • Turn the rotor by hand or turn the steering wheel to turn the rotor
    • Check the thickness of the brake pads
    • Check the brake pad wear indicator
    • Check for gouges on both sides of the rotor
  3. step : Removing the Brake Pads (1:47)
    • Remove the two 19mm bolts from the brake caliper
    • Pull the caliper aside
    • Pry the brake pads off with a flat blade screwdriver
    • If only changing the pads, continue to Step 6 and install the new pads
  4. step : Removing the Brake Rotor (2:44)
    • Remove bolts from the brake caliper bracket
    • Pull off the brake caliper bracket
    • Pull the rotor off
    • If the rotor will not come off, douse the back side with penetrating oil and use two M10 bolts to press the rotor off
  5. step : Installing the New Brake Rotor (4:08)
    • Slide the rotor on
    • Thread on one lug nut to hold the rotor in place
    • Clean the caliper bracket with a wire brush
    • Remove the brake pad slides
    • Apply anti-seize fluid or white grease to the slides
    • Push the slides on with a flat blade screwdriver
    • Put the bracket back into place
    • Start the bolts by hand
    • Tighten the bolts to 100 foot-pounds of torque
  6. step : Installing the New Brake Pads (5:32)
    • Clean the rotor with brake parts cleaner or mineral spirits
    • Grease the brake pads
    • Install the new brake pads into the bracket
    • Put an old pad in the caliper
    • Use a large C-clamp and the old pad to push the pistons back
    • Put the caliper on
    • Thread bolts by hand
    • Tighten bolts to 50 foot-pounds of torque
  7. step : Reattaching the Wheel (7:29)
    • Slide the wheel into place
    • Start the lug nuts by hand
    • Tighten the lug nuts preliminarily
    • Lower the vehicle to the ground
    • Tighten the lug nuts to between 110 foot-pounds in a crossing or star pattern
    • Reattach the center cap
  8. step : Testing the Brakes (7:53)
    • Pump your brakes repeatedly until they feel firm
    • Test your brakes at 5 miles per hour and then 10 miles per hour
    • Road test the vehicle
