Wear and Tear

This item is backed by a warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under its intended use. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear. Please keep your invoice for proof of this warranty.

  1. step : Remove the wheel (1:25)
    • Remove the lug nut covers and center cap.
    • Loosen the lug nuts.
    • Raise and secure the vehicle.
    • Remove the lug nuts and set the wheel aside.
    • Placing the wheel under a lift point on the vehicle will add extra security in the event of a floor jack failure.
  2. step : Remove the calipers (1:57)
    • Observe your brakes; look for excessive wear or gouges in the rotor and check the thickness of the brake pads.
    • Use a flat blade screwdriver to pry in between the caliper to compress the piston to help get the caliper off.
    • Take a 3/8 Allen wrench and place it in the caliper bolt.
    • Use an open wrench to loosen up the bolt (which you are holding in place with the Allen wrench to get it loose)
    • Remove the caliper and discard the pads.
  3. step : Remove the rotor (4:59)
    • Use a hammer and chisel to remove the dust cap.
    • Take your pliers and remove the cotter pin.
    • With a 27 mm socket and ratchet, remove the nut on the center of the rotor.
    • Remove the washer and pull the rotor off.
  4. step : install the new rotor (6:25)
    • Clean the rotor with brake clean.
    • Coat the inside of the hub with bearing grease.
    • Insert the race with the race installation tool.
    • Apply bearing grease to the bearings.
    • Insert the inner bearings to the inside of the hub and then install the seal with your race installation tools.
    • Flip the rotor and repeat the process.
    • Continue to Part 2.
