Wear and Tear

This item is backed by a warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under its intended use. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear. Please keep your invoice for proof of this warranty.

  1. step : Removing the Wheel and Tire (0:56)
    • Loosen the lug nuts
    • Raise and support the vehicle
    • Remove the lug nuts
  2. step : Removing the Brake Caliper (1:25)
    • Remove the two 17mm bolts from the brake caliper
    • Pull off the brake caliper
    • Hang the caliper aside with a bungee cord
    • Remove the brake pads
  3. step : Removing the Brake Rotor (2:25)
    • Remove the two 21mm bolts from the caliper bracket
    • Pull off the caliper bracket
    • Pull off the brake rotor
  4. step : Preparing the Brakes (Preparing the Brakes)
    • Tap the brake pads out of the brake caliper
    • Pry the brake caliper clips off the caliper with a flat blade screwdriver
    • Clean the caliper and clips with a wire brush
    • Apply brake grease to the clips
    • Pull out each caliper slide
    • Clean each caliper slide
    • Apply brake grease to each caliper slide
    • Clean the wheel hub surface with a wire brush
    • Apply brake grease to the hub surface
    • Slide the new rotor onto the wheel studs backwards
    • Clean the rotor's contact surface with brake cleaner
  5. step : Installing the Brake Rotor (8:45)
    • Slide the rotor onto the wheel studs
    • Slide an axle nut, if one is available, onto one wheel stud
    • Thread a lug nut onto the wheel stud to hold the rotor in place
    • Put the caliper bracket into place
    • Insert the 21mm bolts into the caliper bracket
  6. step : Installing the Wheel and Tire (11:32)
    • Slide on the wheel
    • Start the lug nuts by hand
    • Lower the vehicle to the ground
    • Tighten the lug nuts to 100 foot-pounds of torque

Poor customer service
I was shopping for a brake kit for my 2015 explorer saw this kit but had trouble buying on line called the customer service number so I could get the kit on the phone the rep checked and confirmed that the kit would fit . Got the kit and nothing was right front rotors were to small and the pads looked nothing like what came off my car opened the rear components and they were also wrong wrong rotors wrong pads . Now for the really great part asked to return them and I was told I would have to incure the cost of the return 108.00 half the cost of the kit . Now this would be ok if I had just picked out a kit and ordered it but I called a live speaking voice who checked and said the kit was right at this point it should all be on 1A but I only got shorted . I would never buy again from them and dont recommend that anyone else does Thanks Gil Giuliani
