How To Replace Headlights and Bulbs 05-08 Audi A4 Sedan

Learn how to replace a cloudy or cracked headlight or change a burnt out bulb. This video will teach you how to replace the headlights on your 05-08 Audi A4.

  1. step 1 : Servicing the Bulbs
    • Pull the air duct up and off to access the bulbs
    • Press the tab and release the bulb protector
    • Pull the bulb socket out of the light
    • Pull the bulb off of the socket
    • Push on the new bulb
    • Insert the bulb clockwise into the light
    • Press the bulb protector door back on
  2. step 2 : Removing the Bumper Cover
    • Secure the vehicle on jack and jack stands
    • Turn the three flat blade fasteners underneath the bumper counterclockwise and remove them
    • Optional: To remove the center panel, remove the six Phillips or Torx screws
    • Remove the T25 fasteners inside the wheel well
    • Pull the wheel well out off its studs
    • Remove the two 10mm nuts from both sides of the body panel
    • Remove the three T30 bolts near the top of the grille
    • Loosen the two T30 bolts near the headlights with an extension
    • Remove the fascia
    • Disconnect the fog light wiring harness
    • Remove the bumper cover
  3. step 3 : Removing the Headlight
    • Remove the three T30 bolts from the headlight bracket
    • Pull the headlight out
    • Disconnect the headlight wiring harness
  4. step 4 : Installing the New Headlight
    • Reconnect the wiring harness to the headlight
    • Line up the bolt holes on the headlight bracket to the bolt holes on the vehicle
    • Replace the three T30 bolts into the headlight bracket
  5. step 5 : Adjusting the Light
    • Turn the inner white T30 Torx screw clockwise to adjust width
    • Turn the outer white T40 Torx screw to adjust height
  6. step 6 : Installing the Bumper Cover
    • Connect the fog light wiring harness
    • Insert the bumper cover into place
    • Insert the fascia into place
    • Tighten the two T30 bolts near the headlights with an extension
    • Tighten the three T30 bolts near the top of the grille
    • Tighten the six screws to the center panel
    • Press the wheel well guard into place
    • Tighten the T25 fasteners inside the wheel well
    • Tighten the three fasteners underneath the bumper

Just installed these replacement headlamps and they look and perform like OEM. I originally had an issue where I received two passenger side headlights vs one for each side. Upon contactin A1 they sent a driver side replacement immediately. Great customer service!
