Acura CL Honda Accord Ignition Switch & Lock Cylinder Assembly with Key - 1AZIS00011

This is the ignition switch assembly with lock cylinder that mounts inside the steering column.

  • Common Problems
  • Damaged during a theft attempt
  • No start condition occur because the junction block contacts corrode and short out.
  • No start condition because the contacts in the rotating upper assembly wear out
  • While Driving your gauges and dash lights flicker as if the vehicle shuts off for a brief second

If your vehicle is having issues when starting such as the power comes on in the car when you turn the key on but then the engine does not turn over or if accessories don't seem to work and you've checked things like the battery and fuses this part may be your problem. If your contacts are corroded you can clean them but once the protective coating is gone then they will most likely corrode again quicker and possibly short out. If you are having problems with this part then fix it right the first time.

1996 Honda Accord Ignition Switch & Lock Cylinder Assembly with Key
Part was delivered within 2 days. Matched OEM equipment perfectly. Easy to install once you get past the 2 brake-off bolts that Honda installed. Install video not exact as there were 5 screws holding the steering housing in place, not 3. Also, video didn't show that there was a steel brace under the dash that had to be removed to access the wiring. Overall, video did the job of how to install. Glad I did it myself as dealer costs would be about $500.

I plan on purchasing the ignition switch & lock assembly, would I then have two keys to operate my vehicle? One to start the car and the other to open the door? Thanks

BEST ANSWER: Yes, your original key would lock/unlock the doors and trunk and the keys included with the assembly will start the car. It seems like it would be a pain, but it isn't. I suggest having a plain/non rubber key cut of your original so it's easier to tell them apart on your key ring.
