Wear and Tear

This item is backed by a warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under its intended use. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear. Please keep your invoice for proof of this warranty.

  1. step : Removing the Wheel (0:31)
    • Loosen the lug nut covers with a 22mm socket
    • Loosen the lug nuts with the vehicle on the ground
    • Raise the vehicle with a floor jack
    • Secure the vehicle on jack stands
    • Remove the lug nuts
    • Pull off the wheel
  2. step : Removing the Brake Pads (1:20)
    • Remove 17mm bolts from the brake caliper
    • Pry the brake pads into the caliper with a flat blade screwdriver to push in the pistons
    • Pull the caliper aside
    • Pry out the pins from the brake pads
    • Pry the brake pads off with a flat blade screwdriver
  3. step : Removing the Brake Rotor (3:05)
    • Remove 19mm bolts from the brake caliper bracket
    • Pull off the brake caliper bracket
    • Remove the Phillips screws from the rotor
    • Pull the rotor off
  4. step : Preparing the New Brake Pads and Rotors (6:15)
    • Remove the caliper slides with channel lock pliers
    • Apply grease to the caliper slides
    • Clean the brake pad slides with a wire brush
    • Clean the rotor with brake parts cleaner
  5. step : Installing the New Brake Rotor (8:37)
    • Clean off the hub with a wire brush
    • Slide the rotor on
    • Clean both sides of the rotor with brakes parts cleaner
    • Thread on one lug nut to hold the rotor in place
    • Put the bracket back into place
    • Start the bolts by hand
    • Tighten the bolts to 101 foot-pounds of torque
  6. step : Installing the New Brake Pads and Rotor (10:56)
    • Put an old pad in the caliper
    • Use a large C-clamp and the old pad to push the pistons back
    • Apply grease to the brake pad tabs
    • Install the new brake pads into the bracket
    • Clip in the brake pad wire
    • Put the caliper on
    • Thread bolts by hand
    • Tighten bolts to 53 foot-pounds
  7. step : Reattaching the Wheel (13:27)
    • Slide the wheel into place
    • Start the lug nuts by hand
    • Tighten the lug nuts preliminarily
    • Lower the vehicle to the ground
    • Tighten the lug nuts to 95 foot-pounds in a crossing or star pattern
  8. step : Testing the Brakes (14:23)
    • Pump your brakes repeatedly until they feel firm
    • Test your brakes at 5 miles per hour and then 10 miles per hour
    • Road test the vehicle

I still have the original brakes on my pilot 60,000 miles will these brakes last as long as they did??

BEST ANSWER: These are premium brakes, and should last just as long as OEM brakes.
