2008-11 Honda Civic Windshield Wiper Transmission - 1AWWT00251

It requires basic tools and removal and installation of small body parts such as cowl vent grilles.   1. step : Removing the Wiper Arms (0:25)
    • Mark the location of the wiper blades by pressing tape to the windshield
    • Pop off the cap on the end of the arm
    • Remove the 14mm nut from the wiper arm
  2. step : Removing the Cowl Cover (2:00)
    • Open the hood
    • Prop the hood in the maintenance position
    • Pull the weather seal off the cowl cover
    • Remove the three plastic pins from the cowl cover with trim tools or needle nose pliers
    • Pop the cowl cover out of the cowl
    • Disconnect the windshield washer house coupler
  3. step : Removing the Cowl (4:02)
    • Apply rust penetrant to the 10mm bolt on each side of the cowl
    • Remove the 10mm bolt from front of each side of the cowl
    • Apply rust penetrant to the two 12mm bolts on each side of the cowl
    • Remove the two 12mm bolts on each side of the cowl
    • Apply rust penetrant to the 10mm bolt on the rear of each side of the cowl
    • Remove the 10mm bolt on the top of each side of the cowl
    • Apply rust penetrant to the 10mm bolt in the middle of the cowl
    • Remove the 10mm bolt in the middle of the cowl
    • Pull the cowl forward and out of the engine bay
  4. step : Removing the Wiper Transmission (7:26)
    • Pop off and remove the side cowl covers
    • Disconnect the wiring harness
    • Remove the six 10mm bolts from the wiper transmission
    • Remove the wiper transmission
  5. step : Installing the Wiper Transmission (10:18)
    • Connect the rubber mount onto the firewall
    • Insert the wiper transmission into place
    • Tighten the six 10m bolt to the wiper transmission
    • Connect the wiring harness
    • Pop on the side cowl covers
  6. step : Installing the Cowl (14:48)
    • Put the cowl into place
    • Install the 10mm bolt on the front of each side of the cowl
    • Use masking tape to hold a 10mm bolt in your socket
    • Install the 10mm bolt in the middle of the cowl
    • Install the 10mm bolt at the rear of each side of the cowl
    • Insert the two 12mm bolts on each side of the cowl
  7. step : Installing the Cowl Cover (16:11)
    • Clean the bottom of the windshield with glass cleaner
    • Connect the windshield washer hose coupler
    • Put the cowl cover into place
    • Pop in the cowl cover clips
    • Push the three plastic pins into the cowl cover
    • Push the weather seal onto the cowl cover
  8. step : Installing the Wiper Arms (17:43)
    • Install the wiper arm with the bend and DR on the bottom to the driver side
    • Tighten the 14mm nut
    • Install the wiper arm with the P on the bottom to the passenger side, below the driver side arm
    • Tighten the 14mm nut
    • Reinstall the caps
