Great Conversion Kit

This is everything the website said it would be. Makes tons more sense to put these on instead of the electronic set when you already have a high mileage vehicle.

Easy replacement shocks ... ride great

One of my OEM front shocks was leaking fluid and the dealer wanted $1,065 for a pair of replacement shocks (not even complete strut assemblies) for my 2007 Chevy Tahoe Z55 RPO. These are a great low-cost solution that work great. Look no farther, these are a super easy solution. Two struts for $285 is awesome. This is a super easy DIY swap out. Things to look out for: - the resistor that you need to splice into the wiring harness to defeat the auto damping error light is not the slickest solution ... but a couple of soldered on pigtails and splice connectors get the job done. - the strut is probably about 3/8" longer than the original, but that might just be because it hasn't been smooshed for 12 years. The top plate on the top of the strut is slightly different than the OEM one, but I don't think that it makes any difference. Overall ... perfect cheap, super inexpensive, and easy to install.

When I ordered it online, I thought that the electric part would be unplug and then plugin, all done. But turns out I must do the wire soldering and connecting, not rally a big problem to me, but small space made it harder.
Nice quality product for the price

I spent a lot of time on different sites trying to find the best replacement. I didn't want to drop $900 a corner for factory replacement parts. these were the perfect conversion. My ride is great again and they didnt break the bank.
Great way to save money and restore good function

I was able to perform a complete repair for a customer with bad struts while doing it for less than the cost of the parts from GM, and that was just the struts. GM does not include mounts, springs or anything else. The ride quality is great, resistor installation is simple, and the customer is on the road with no annoying noise or harsh ride. Very happy with this product and would use it again.
Affordable Solution

These are certainly an affordable solution if your front shocks are blown, but I don't recommend these for the long haul. Realistically, a nice set that will last will set you back 600. These haven't even made it 15k miles.
Amazing

Great conversion kit. Way cheaper than the factory while keeping the ride quality the same as OEM. Love the provided resistor to keep my MIL light off

Great Kit - Eliminated Front End Clunking Noise from OEM Bad Struts

I cannot in good faith not write a review on this kit. It is superb. Though to appreciate my joy the story must be told... I bought a 2008 4WD Suburban LTZ with Z55 Autoride suspension in 2018 with 90k on the odo. The truck was tight -- drivetrain, suspension, etc. After about a year though I started to get some clunking from the front end when going over small bumps at low speeds. I suspected it was the front struts so I took the Suburban to a local Chevy dealer for new struts (& installation). ...I look back on this now and wonder why I chose this route. I do most all the work on all our vehicles. I suspect it was because I had never replaced struts before and I didn't realize that special tools are not required for this work (such as a compression tool for the springs, etc). I paid too much money at Chevrolet, and the noise still was present. I figured it must be something else and continued to drive it. If memory serves, I changed out the hubs and brakes (as they definitely nee

Not a plug and play resistor

Video showed the resistor plugging into the existing plug for the original shocks . This was not the case . I had to strip back the air loom and cut it in definitely not as Advertised and added a lot of time to the job

After utilizing the lifetime warranty to get replacements of the original purchase of the shocks, the worked out great. The conversion kit provided for these shocks required some special installation. Even though I gave these a 5 star, I would suggest getting the shocks with the conversion kit which allows you to just plug into your factory air ride system.
Customer Q&A
Are these monotone? What brand?

We have a few different aftermarket companies build these parts specifically for us, as our 1A Auto house brand. They are manufactured to the same OEM specifications as the original part that came with your vehicle. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I've read that escalade flex fuel models ride height is different, just wondering if these would work on mine and keep same ride hight?
October 31, 2018

Thanks for your inquiry. Flex Fuel models do not have a ride height difference. As long as the part is listed to fit your model then these will be correct!

The two bolts that came with these didn't have enough threads. Is that expected? I had to use the original bolts and nuts to secure these.

This kit is a passive conversion for models that came equipped with an automatic dampening (electronic) suspension. It will fit like the original, bypass the factory sensors, and create a more consistent ride, thanks to a revised gas shock design.
