Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the fog lights on this 2004 Volvo XC90. The only tool you need (if you're just looking to change the bulbs in your fog light you don't need any tools) if you need to replace a fog light because it's been broken or damaged, is a T25 Torx driver with a ratchet and extension.
Servicing and even replacing the fog and driving light is pretty easy. A good access from here behind, this is your plug for the light. Push in on this metal tab and then pull that off. If you're just looking to change the bulb, twist counterclockwise and the bulb comes out. You would replace that whole assembly. It goes back in. Push in and turn.
If you're looking at changing the whole assembly, there's two T25 screws. One right up there. You just need to pull those down a little bit and you can see the other one right there. There is a third screw. I'm just going to pull this down a little bit. You can see it right up in there. Here in this still image, that red arrow is pointing right at that third screw.
I have a T25 Torx bit on a socket with a ratchet. First, I'll do this one here, put it down. You have to get it loose. Just going there with a bit. You can part it easily. Once you get these screws loosened up, they could come right out by hand. Now here, I'm going to change up our tool a little bit to get that third screw that's further up in there. Okay, use a long extension with my bit and my ratchet. Put it up and in. Again, once you start turning that, it's pretty easy. The whole light comes down. Just getting that screw out of there to make sure I don't lose it.
The one from 1A Auto, you can see nice and clear. We have a bulk of them. This will fix your problem. Just carefully put the light back up in. Get it into place. Make sure our harness isn't in the way. I'm going to hold it in and start this screw right over here. Pull this down and start the screw in here. I'm going to reach up to top here and start my third screw in. I'm trying to go as far as I can with my fingers. I'll go with the extension first and put it up in. Get that first screw nice and snug. Use the extension on this screw as well. Get it tightened up. Go right in here on the third screw. Get them tight and then reconnect the light. I'll push on this wire again, connect it, make sure the wire pop back and we're all set.
