Bottom line it's in and works well
I looked at a few sites that offered the handles and that had videos, especially the excellent one by A1 Auto. I chose A1 Auto because they had good videos and I wanted to support them, and the price was reasonable. It was not the color of my car, but that was OK as I'll paint it when I paint my rear bumper cover. I've been fixing things for 59 + years, but this was a bit of a challenge with those small access ports and where there wasn't one that lined up, and I really had to twist and turn to get a wrench on the nut. I bought two M6 - 10mm bolts and two washers. For the 3rd bolt that was needed, it wasn't machine thread it was like a self tapping, into molded plastic, I used one of the old ones from the original handle...they were all self tapping. Some scrapes, bruises and at least one dropped bolt (thank goodness I had a towel there to catch anything) I got it in. The handle return spring has a little tension than the original, but if the originals had a little less tension, like this one, we probably wouldn't be breaking off the handles ! ! !

Satisfied, would recommend.

The part did not fit.........
We where not able to get the door handle to fit. We ended up buying a door handle from a wrecked 1997 Lexus that did fit. The 2 handles looked alike from the outside, but the handle pull mechanism was a different design.

1997 Toyota Camry drivers door outside door handle
Your website was user friendly. I found the product quickly. It was a fair market price. I watched the installation video. It was very helpful. The check out was quick and easy. I received my product three days later as promised. I’ll definitely continue doing business with 1aauto.

A challenging replacement but worth it
OK, I've done two of these now; one of my Camry and one on my daughter's Camry. Both were bears of job because of the last step of disconnecting the rod for the lock. It is so hidden in there that you can't see it. None of the videos online, including the 1AAuto one, were very helpful with this particular step. There is a plastic locking clip that has to be pivoted up off the rod in a manner very similar to the clip for the door latch rod. The problem is seeing it and pushing it the right direction. Then reconnecting it for the new handle is not necessarily easier, even though at that point you know what the thing looks like. All I can say is be patient and don't think you're going to get it done in a hurry.
One other issue. Two of the screws for the replacement handle are metric 10 machine screws whereas the original screws are not machine screws. You'll need to go to the hardware store and get the right screws before finishing the job. I found the right screws mentioned in the reviews of several other youtube videos. Sorry I can't remember the right lengths off the top of my head. It might be nice if 1A Auto would list these in their description or, even better, supply them with the part!
Anyway, be sure to use the right screws in the right place.

DID NOT have the necessary bolts for installation.
I didn't know it would be so hard to install the new handle, AND the replacement did not have the necessary bolts for installation. Would not do it again !!!!!!!

The handle was a perfect fit and the color was a exact match even after 19 years. The insulation was not the easiest job that I have ever done. The video was a big help.

Toyota door handle
Original Handle has 3 places for screws. New handle
replaces 2 of the 3 with metal inserts for threaded bolts.
Bolts were not included and I found out the original screws
would not work after door was taken apart. That made it hard
to go to the hardware and get new bolts. The 3rd handle screw hole was not replaced with a steel threaded insert. The screw wallowed out and the handle isn't tight and moves when
opening the door.

Perfect fit, poorly packaged and damaged. Required repainting!
Items are a perfect match, but haphazard packaging allowed items to bounce around and damaged finish to exterior door handle. No filler was added to prevent movement and deep scratches required prep and paint. Completely removed benefit of economy purchase. Parts were perfect, but packer dropped the ball. I hope this was a one-off situation, but quality control may need to initiate a serious investigation into this important factor for your customers. Cutting corners that cost the customer time and effort usually prove detrimental to the business bottom line.

Any additional screws/bolts required? The ones on AMAZON require 3 M6 x 12mm bolts. I think because AMAZON part is for Japanese built Camry?
James H on Jan 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You will need three bolts to secure this part to your door on the backside. The three M6 x 12MM may be accurate based upon your existing mounting hardware. You may reuse the existing lock cylinder and clips to secure the connecting rods on the backside too.
