In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and install the rear door handle on this '94 Camry. The only tools you'll need are a Philip's screwdriver, a regular screwdriver and a 10 mm socket with ratchet and an extension. Start out, use a flat blade screwdriver, push it up in the air, pull that out and then down in here. You want to go a little further on the bottom, and then that pops off. Then the power window switch, from under the front and that slides up and out and then there's a little button right here. You press with your thumb, disconnect that. Then there's a little plug here that covers a Philip's screw, okay that. Philip's screwdriver and then another Philip's screw right under here. You kind of got to put your screwdriver up in there, feel around a little bit until you get it. Then on the back of the door, you have little pins here, push the center in. Another one down here, push the center in and then either using a screwdriver or a your fingernails just pry those out. There are two more of those on the front, one up here and one here. Then probably the best thing is use a putty knife, stick it in, slide it until something, pull out and there's three clips and then lift your door panel up and off.

To replace the door handle, what you're going to have pull that back some and you're going to use a good size screwdriver and you want to pry, this is a pin to the door here. You basically want to get the screwdriver in behind it and pry it away. I've already done it once so it came kind of easy. Now, you're going to remove three screws for the latch mechanism here. You're going to pry this black, it's like a knob, it's actually your child lock switch or knob, pry it out. Now, you want to push your lock mechanism down. That reveals two bolts, okay there is one 10 mm bolt and then the other 10 mm bolt is right there, although I think you can get to it through this hole somehow. Right there is your other 10 mm bolt. I'm going to use a driver, actually an extension with a 10 mm socket. I'm going to do this one first. You can actually see right in through this slot. There's my bolt. Then this one. Once those bolts are out then you just take your handle, lift up and out. Okay then the 1A Auto handle, is exactly the same. Now, what happens is this plastic clip can break or one of the arms here can break and obviously if you are just worried about making your door function then a black handle will do fine.

If you want to paint it to match, you can go to an automotive parts store that has a good department and they can help you find your paint code. They can mix up some paint to match and you can spray it yourself. It will be a pretty good match anyways. Obviously, reinstalling, you put it in and it's going to fit a little tighter it looks like. Put it and then tighten it and put your bolts on. Okay, take our bolts, put them into our driver, and carefully feed them in. Going to get in your way for a second. Get one started. Got that one in. Now I'll get this one started before I tighten them up. Okay, now I'm going to make them nice and firm. Now, my latch mechanism put that in place. I'm going to hold it with this finger here through the hole, start one of those little screws then I'll start the other one. Make sure I'm getting contact with the handle. Make sure this is all free and just pop this back into its hole. Replace the water shield and you can see the white right in here, just make sure that pin goes into that white. I'm just going to speed through putting the door panel back on, if you want to see this in real time, check out our other videos for the door panel installation and removal. Although since you took it apart, you should do it, you probably can put it together because it's just a reverse of the procedure. Hanging the door panel on there, put the pins in, a couple of screws and snap a couple of bezels back on and you'll be back on the road.

In this video, we show you how to replace a rear door handle on this '94 Camry. It basically involves removing the door panel and then swapping out the handle. Tools you need are a Phillips screwdriver, a regular screwdriver and a 10mm socket and ratchet or driver.

To start out, you use a flathead screwdriver, push it up in there, pull that out and down here you go a little further on the bottom. Then that pops off. The power window switch comes from under the front and slides up and out. Then there's a little button right here you press with your thumb. Disconnect that. There's a little plug here that covers a Phillip's screw. For that, use a Phillip's screwdriver. There's another Phillip's screw right under here. Kind of put your screwdriver up in there, feel around a little bit so you can get it. On the back of the door, you have little pins here. Push the center in. There's another one down here. Push the center in and then either using a screwdriver or your fingernails, just pry those out. There are two more of those on the front: one up here and one here. Then, probably the best thing is to use a putty knife. Stick it in, slide it until you hit something, pull out. There's three clips and lift your door panel up and off.

To replace your inside door handle, if it's broken . a lot of times the plastic will break and it won't work . , use a 10 mm socket and driver. There's actually also a Phillips head in here, so you could use a Phillips screwdriver. Then pull your handle off. You can see there's just little clips. You can use either your fingernails or a screwdriver to kind of push those clips off and the rod comes down. Do the same thing with this one. Push that clip off. The rod comes down and it's off.

Obviously, this handle is good. You can see this upper rod connects on here. The lower rod goes into the back of the door. The lower rod is your door handle, so the upper rod is your lock. Put it back in. Clip it on. Put it back in. Clip it on. A 10mm goes right through here. Start all your bolts first. Tighten it nice and firm.

Reinstall the door panel. Make sure you feed your harness up through. Go up a little higher. Push the top of the panel against the window and then down. I like to put my switch on right away just so this harness doesn't try and slide down and get lost down there. Put that in. Push it down in. Push the back down first and the front clips. Clip the bottom. Reset your little clips by pushing them up like that. Insert them. Insert then lock. This screw just kind of stayed in there. It should be up at an angle to get it where it wants to go. Tighten it up nice and firm. Then this has a little tab in it. It goes into a slot so you know you're putting it in at the right angle. Then you have the tab at the front of this that you want to lock into here. So you want to angle the front first and you're all set.

In this video, we're going to how to replace the driver's front door handle which is basically the same as the passenger's door handle on this '94 Camry, same as any '92 to '96 Camry. Tools you'll need are pretty basic, regular screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, and a 10 mm socket with a driver or a ratchet and extension.

We're going to start out by removing this trim panel up here. Just put your fingers in behind. If you want, you can use a little screwdriver. This just pops out. See, it has a little pin that go into the grommets there. Now you need to remove this bezel around your door handle. You do that by inserting your screwdriver at the top, prying up some, and pulling it out, and the same thing at the bottom. Prying up with my screwdriver and pulling out with my fingers. That comes out. Close up of where you place your screwdriver in order to pry that bezel. Now you need to remove four covers that show screws. Basically, you're going to pry these right off. I'm just going to keep my hand over them because sometimes they'll go flying a little bit. There's another one right under here. Pry it out and pull it out by hand. Then, there's another one right down in here, same thing. Now remove five screws, one, two, three, four, and there's one in there, five. Then, on the end of the door there're two pins. You actually push the center of the pin in and then you can actually pull it out. Now here's a close up, push in the pin, and then use a screwdriver or your fingernail to pry those two pins out of the end of the door. Now there're four pins along the bottom of the door. I just recommend getting your hand underneath and giving a good quick tug. My screws came out of the armrest there. Now you just lift the panel up and off. Then, the last step is to disconnect this harness. There's a little button right here underneath, press, and work the connection out. If you have the up level stereo with the tweeter in the door pull you'll need to disconnect those.

To remove your door handle, first you're going to have a little piece of shield here that you just pull off. You can see there's no glue left on it so it just fell off my door. Then, inside, see if we can see. You're going to see a bolt right there. That's a 10 mm bolt. You need to remove that, and then up in here, accessible right here, another 10 mm bolt, and then other thing is you see that yellow clip right there. You need to reach your hand in there and pull that clip off, and I will try to film that for you. You can reach your hand right in like this and you just basically need to get your finger in back of it and push, and just use a screwdriver and you want to push that rod out of the way from the door handle. Now you can see the rod is disconnected. Now you want to remove two 10 mm bolts which you can just do with a regular 10 mm socket and driver or you can use a ratchet with an extension. Put them in here and on the bolt, remove it. Most likely these bolts are going to fall down into the door which is ok. Move my light here. This one right here. With those bolts out you pull the handle down and out, and then the lock here has another little clip which you just pull away from the rod slip the rod out, and your door handle's off.

Obviously, here is my original handle. New handle from 1A Auto. If you're going to replace your handle, obviously, this handle's in fine shape so I am going to put it back on the car, but you can see that the handle from 1A Auto's the same. It has the clip on it. You would want to transfer your lock here which is just a 10 mm bolt. Remove that bolt, put the lock onto the new handle, and then put the bolt in. You can see it'd be ready to go. Obviously, this is painted to the color of the car. There's no reason you can't just put a black one on if you're not that concerned about it. If you do want to pain it to match the car, then I would suggest going to an automotive part store that has a good paint department. What they can do usually is using either your VIN or your paint code which they can help you find they can mix up some paint to match your car and put it in an air charged spray can, and then you can repaint your new door handle yourself.

Now to reinstall the handle. First you want to reconnect your lock rod, so push that in and lock your clip, and then twist the handle in and push. You can reinstall our two 10 mm bolts. Feed them into the driver first, watch them into the hole, and lightly start them, make sure they go in nice and easy. Same thing with this one. Make sure they're nice and firm, tight. Dropped my socket. Now you want to, make sure you reconnect your rod here, push it in and reach in and lock it on. Here, you're going to carefully peel back your water shield. You want to just take care not to tear it. If that sticky stuff doesn't work when you put it back together you can use some tape. You'll notice I have the inside door handle off to move. That's just to clear the water shield out of the way a little more to film. You don't actually have to take your inside door handle off in order to get to this part. Now you can put your plastic water shield back on. Again, if that sticky stuff wore out or whatever, use some masking tape. If you ripped it, use a little duct tape to mend it up.

We're just going to fast forward through putting the door panel back on. If you took it off, you'll probably be able to get it back on without too much trouble.
