The new seals are a bit thicker than I imagined and do cause some doors to not close perfectly flush and require significantly more effort to open and close. I'm hoping they compress a bit over time and better form to door gaps. Everything was going great until I got to the driver's door. The weather stripping had been previously installed, nearly every hole was ripped through and missing the pushpins. I managed to harvest enough old pins and with enough patience and glue, the new seal is on. This customer didn't have time to sit and wait for another package to be shipped out so we made due. Good product, not too sure on the quality control section.

I have a 1990 GMC G2500 Vandura with side cargo doors. These are good quality parts and all the curves and plastic pegs lined up perfectly, but the fatal flaw in these strips is their thickness. It causes there to be a ton of pressure on the seal on the hinge side of the door and no pressure on the handle side. I now have to use my shoulder to close the two doors that Ive installed this on and even then, water comes though in a continuous stream.

The seals fit the edges well but seem to be too thick on the back and cargo doors. this requires you to have to slam the door and even then the door bulges out. i do not know if this will compress over time and fit better. i hope so. Also the attached connectors are very finicky as they only have one attachment barb. The Original ones that were in the van had several levels of "conical" barbs and provide a much better attachment.

How do I get the old seal off the outside of the doors without ruining the paint?

Hey Wilson, You will just need adhesive remover and that would be the best way to remove the weatherstripping.

I was able to use a flat head screwdriver and a box cutter to remove the old weatherstripping. It is held in by the same clip type device that this one comes with. Youll need a pair of pliers possibly as well to pull the clip out of the hole in the metal door.Enter an answer to this question.
