If your wipers will not return to the park position, or they don't lay down where they are supposed to, this could fix that problem. This arm has been manufactured with hardened steel pin to resist the breakage that occurred in the original design.

This wiper crank arm assembly features the following specifications:

  • Fits between windshield wiper motor and wiper transmission
  • Part of the "Park System" for the wiper assembly
  • Replaces dealer part number: 12494832
  • Direct bolt on

  1. Removing the Wheel (0:42)
    • Pry off the center cap with a flat blade screwdriver
    • Loosen the lug nuts with the vehicle on the ground
    • Raise the vehicle with a floor jack
    • Secure the vehicle on jack stands
    • Remove the lug nuts
    • Pull off the wheel
  2. Inspecting the Brakes (1:03)
    • Check for gouges on both sides of the rotor
    • Check the thickness of the brake pads
    • Check the brake pad wear indicator
  3. Removing the Brake Pads (1:45)
    • Remove the two 17mm bolts from the brake caliper
    • Pull the caliper aside
    • Pry the brake pads off with a flat blade screwdriver
    • Remove the brake pad slides
  4. Removing the Brake Rotor (2:39)
    • Remove the two 18mm bolts from the brake caliper bracket
    • Pull off the brake caliper bracket
    • Pull the rotor off
    • If the rotor will not come off, thread one lug nut and strike rotor with a hammer
    • Alternatively, use an M12 bolt to push the rotor off
  5. Installing the New Brake Rotor (4:19)
    • Slide the rotor on
    • Thread on one lug nut to hold the rotor in place
    • Check that the caliper bracket slides move smoothly
    • Apply grease to the slides if necessary
    • Put the bracket back into place
    • Start the 18mm bolts by hand
    • Tighten the 18mm bolts to 110 foot-pounds of torque
  6. Installing the New Brake Pads (5:23)
    • Clean the brake pad slides with a wire brush
    • Clean the rotor with brake parts cleaner or mineral spirits
    • Remove the clips from the old brake pads
    • Install the clips onto the new brake pads
    • Put an old pad in the caliper
    • Use a large C-clamp and the old pad to push the pistons back
    • Install the new brake pads into the bracket
    • Put the caliper on
    • Thread the 17mm bolts by hand
    • Tighten the 17mm bolts to 40 foot-pounds
  7. Reattaching the Wheel (8:08)
    • Slide the wheel into place
    • Start the lug nuts by hand
    • Tighten the lug nuts preliminarily
    • Lower the vehicle to the ground
    • Tighten the lug nuts to 100 foot-pounds in a crossing or star pattern
    • Reattach the center cap
  8. Testing the Brakes (8:38)
    • Pump your brakes repeatedly until they feel firm
    • Test your brakes at 5 miles per hour and then 10 miles per hour
    • Road test the vehicle
