using the attached video, my daughter and I were able to install the regulator and get her back on the road in less than an hour. additionally this regulator had the mounting studs on it. Great product and great service. I will use 1AAuto exclusively.

The part arrived on time, and it was an exact match to the old one. The construction seems solid, but time will tell on that. Mine even came with mounting bolts to replace the factory rivets that originally held it in place. So I didn't have to root through my quarter-twenty bolts to find a good fit... I thought that was a nice touch.

I am not a big "car person" I change my own oil and little things like that. After watching the video provided with this part, I decided this would be doable. Ha ha, well, it's never as easy as it appears but, it was pretty straight-forward. I was able to successfully remove and add the new part. Works like a champ.
Perfectly fitted the Bettle VW, no instruction no problem with common sense works. The Door roller cable comes with the screw not even shown on the parts order.

Speedy shipping - 3 days. Well packed - no damage. Installation video was excellent. You need to go slow drilling out the old one, to avoid over drilling the hole. Extra pair of hands always helps when repairing a 1999 VW Beetle.

I am satisfied with the part; window working correctly since repaired 3 months ago. However, I am very jealous of the reviewers who had such an easy time! It took me many, many hours. I got stuck at two key points. One was that the window had fallen down all the way into door. I finally wiggled a roofing pry bar under & behind the inner door panel to raise window enough to grab it from above. The second tough thing was unclipping that last electrical connection to the actuator. A very handy neighbor unclipped it with a pick tool; it took him 2 hours.

I've read on an online forum (newbeetle org) that the convertible takes a different window regulator. So this likely won't fit. (But please note that i am not an expert on this subject,)
