This could be the motor, or another piece of electrical that is causing this continuous motor movement.

Yes that was my experience, then it stopped pulling all the way down, then broke all together. the replacement was good though. VC

There is a tab up on trunk lid by the lock it's spring loaded and let's trunk turn on and off as it's opened/closed.. look to see if it's damaged.

Chances are the assly has pulled apart. I replaced the screws two times and they were pulled apart again. So I ordered a new assly and installed the assly and no more problems.
