Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the bulbs, as well as replace the entire taillight assembly on this 2005 Ford F150. We show you on the passenger side, but the driver side is the same procedure. The items you'll need for this is new tail lights from 1AAuto.com and an 8mm socket and ratchet.
Open up your tailgate and then remove these two 8mm bolts on the side of your tail light. We'll just fast-forward as Mike does that. Now pull the tail light out.
Twist the sockets counterclockwise to remove them. If you're just looking to replace a bulb, the bulb just pulls right out. Push your new one into place. This one's the same way.
On the left is the old taillight; on the right is the new LED tail light from 1AAuto.com. It'll fit exactly the same with no modifications.
Remove the bulb from this top socket. Plug in the harness from your new tail light, and then twist this socket back into place. Turn clockwise to lock it in. Then push these two pins into these two holes on the outside, and do the same thing with the two pins on the other side. Just push it back into place. Replace and tighten up those two 8mm bolts. Now test out your new tail light. Make sure the brakes and the turn signal work. Then check out the backup light. We can see they work so you're all set.
