Your muffler hangs out on the underbelly of your car and if you've ever lived in a bad part of town, you know hanging out in the underbelly is a real good way to expose yourself to corrosive influences, or even get a couple of holes put in you. And that's just what can happen to your muffler in the salty, grimy underbelly. Then it might pick up all kinds of nasty habits, like smoking, and disturbing the peace, and failing (emissions) tests.
The good news is you can nip all these problems in the bud. You just need to reach out and get to know your muffler better. Ask where it's been and who it's been with. Wow, the weather changed fast around here. Not too long ago we still had snow on the ground here in New England, and now we've already had a couple days over ninety degrees. It's like someone just flipped a switch on some sort of weather machine. If only I had some sort of switch that could adjust the temperature inside of my car. Maybe, when I pressed the switch, it would create an opening in the side of the vehicle through which fresh air could enter the cabin. Hmm.
