I have a 2006 GMC CANYON WITH THE 3.5 L Is this camshaft sensor located on the top part of the motor on the right side if you were looking in front of motor.Is this sensor controls the timing advance also ?

This would be the exhaust camshaft position sensor for your model. It should be located on the top part of the engine right above the driver belt. You may need to refer to diagrams or a repair manual to locate the part if you are unsure.

This should be located near the water pump. You may need to remove the power steering pump to get to this sensor.

my 2006 Isuzu I-350 sometimes when I start it there is a little jump in timing and the check engine light comes on. will this sensor help with the problem?
