1999-2000 GMC Sierra 1500 Brake Backing Plate (Two Piece Unit - Split Type) Rear for Models with Rear Disc Brakes Pair

Part Details

  • Front / Rear Location: Rear

This part replaces:

  • DORMAN 924-222

  • New

These 2 piece rear disc brake braking plates, or brake dust shields or covers, are new aftermarket parts. They are a new design that allows the replacement of the backing plates without having to remove the axle shafts! They are a great time saver for shops or any do it yourselfer!

They bolt to the rear end in 2 pieces and serve many functions including holding brake parts in place and keeping dust and road debris away from the backside of the rotors. Over time, the original backing plates will rust away or become damaged from years of weathering and brake jobs. Why not replace your damaged or rusted out disc brake backing plates now with these quick to install parts and help bring back the integrity of your brake system!

Specifications:

  • Comes as a PAIR
    • Fits both LH (Driver Side) & RH (Passenger Side)
  • Comes in 2 pieces for easy installation without having to remove the axle shaft
  • Bolt to rear end
  • Made from stamped steel like originals, but coated with rust proof paint
  • Replaces dealer part numbers: 12476287, 19178785, 12472851, 19178786
  • Built to strict quality control standards
  • Will need to reuse original mounting hardware
  • Saves time over installing standard backing plates!
  • Only fit vehicles that have rear disc brakes
    • Will NOT fit vehicles with rear drum brakes or with 4 wheel steering

Note: For 2007 truck models, the Classic Style has a crease down the center of the door skin where on the new body styles, the door skin is smooth. This part is for the Classic style truck.

These rear disc brake backing plates are great replacements and have good cost savings over dealer units.
