What is a Body Control Module and where is it Located?
The body control module, abbreviated as BCM, is an electronic control unit which controls a variety of your vehicle’s accessories. Depending on the vehicle, the body control module may control functions such as power door locks, keyless entry, headlights, turn signals, interior and instrument lights, and theft security system.
Symptoms of a failing body control module could be total or intermittent failure of any one of these functions. The BCM is commonly located inside the vehicle behind a kick panel or under the dash, or under the hood mounted to the firewall.
